Oh hai, I've been lurking. Not really back full time, but popping in every now and then to see what's going on. Thought I'd share waht's been happening with me, since I have some super exciting things coming up.

I got another horse, for starters. Pitty case that I got talked into taking. Ended up being a really great find (so far). Three y/o OTTB mare. Bred royally and just a super fancy mare. She's coming along great and I'm growing a little too attached to her.

Pictures are from when I got her in July. Last photo is from a week ago.

her sire, for anyone curious mineshaft

Onto the more exciting news, for any of you familiar with these guys.

*deep breath*

I have VIP tickets to see Jacksepticeye at the end of the month, and Markiplier in October. I think i'm still in shock, but HOH BOY. I am so ready. Tickets for both sold out in a matter of minutes. I'm very thankful I was able to get the VIP for both of them. Jack is going a M&G for his VIP, and Mark is doing an acoustic cover performance for his. The shows are a week apart from each other. I'm not sure I'll be able to recover when they are over.

I can't wait to finally see these beautiful bbys in person.

What are you gearing her towards? She looks like an eventer to me... or a dressage pony, but I've got a soft spot for those ;)

@sib & sara; I most certainly will! I am row F for Mark, and not sure on seating for Jack. Looks like it's first come first serve. So hopefully I will be up close and able to get some good pictures. I really thought I would have to choose one over the other since they are so close together, but thankfully I was able to make both work. I don't know how I could have chosen which one to go to.

@zonari; There is a whole backstory on how/why I got her. Here is the short version

"I received a text from one of our trimmers about a mare at their barn that needed re-homing. Now, usually I am not one to offer up a stall to every homeless orphan horse that waddles along. I had zero intention of even considering taking her. I just wanted more information so I could pass it along to a few people I know. Here is what I was told.

Three year old papered OTTB mare. Last raced in February. Bought off the track as an upper level eventing prospect. Had a full set of clean x-rays off the track, teeth done, ulcer treatment done. 12 weeks ago a farrier was out (not the gal that told me about her. she does not do shoes, so they have other farriers for that) and did an "experimental" trim on this mare. Carved her entire foot out and left her with nothing to stand on. I don't have pictures of the original trim, but from what I have been told, and the aftermath of it, it was a disaster.

Here we are 12 weeks later. She is in shoes, pads, and equi-pak. She has pedal osteitis in her LF. Trimmer basically said, someone comes and takes her, or she will be pts. So, here I am, assuming this mare is three legged gimping around with little quality of life. I told her get me video, and I will see what I can do. I get the video, and she is far sounder than I had expected. She can walk and trot comfortably. Shes stiff, but shes not in agony.

So I agree to take her. Against better judgement, but I felt worse and worse for this mare and her owner by the second. She has over 8k in this mare since getting her off the track, and here she is virtually useless to them in an eventing barn.

Long story short. I picked up a lame OTTB mare on Friday. She was going to be a "get her comfortable, breed her next year, then rehome her" kind of deal, but I think I'm getting too attached to her. "

- from a post I made back when I got her.

So far, she has been 100% sound. I've had someone on her twice now and she did fantastic. So, as long as she continues going well, I'd like to do some low level Dressage with her. Probably just to play around with, since I don't show Dressage (I show reiners and WP). I really don't have time to bring up a dressage pony from the ground up.

... oh my lord. I can't fathom how much pain she was in. I'm glad she's in good hands now at the very least. You'll have loads of fun with her - I cannot get enough of my OTTBs.
