Public Notes
100 Show Placings 1/29/19

hello, this is my first horse on EV! i use her public notes to draft long forum posts or major rewrites to my homepage since those usually take me a while to write out and i can save my formatting here. so if you see a wall of text down here that's probably why! c:

Item Location and Use Guide

This guide is meant as a reference for all items in the game, where they are located, what uses they have, and with the long-term goal of adding prices for every purchasable item eventually.
I plan to keep this up to date if/when more items are added and old ones are updated. I am on EV almost daily so if a change happens please give me a couple days to update the lists. Trust me, one of the first things on my mind after an update will probably be to check on this guide anyway. c: Feel free to correct anything that is wrong through here or DMs, but keep in mind I will hesitate to add info if I cannot be certain that it is true.

How to Find Items
•Item Listings, Trades and the Forums
•The Credit Shop
•Seasonal Events

How to Find Items
Some people may be unfamiliar with different parts of EV, so I have a small explanation for the major areas that items can be found in.

Item Listings, Trades and the Forums
These are all markets run by the players themselves and so prices will fluctuate often. Item listings can be bought immediately with a small fee deducted from the seller's earnings. Trades require an offer to be made and the seller to approve it. The forums make use of trades and sometimes transfers as well.

The Credit Shop
This is where you find all the items that can purchased with credits. Items are always in stock and are not affected by in-game season or events.

Seasonal Events
Events reoccur annually and are the only source for many special items in the game. They come with their own unique currency that is only accessible during the event, afterwards the currency still remains on your account but cannot be viewed until the event returns. Sometimes currency will need to be converted before it can be used.

Valentine's - February (Ruby Shards converted into Ruby Hearts)
Water Balloon Fight - July (Shimmering Raindrops)
Summer Stargazing - August (Stardust converted into Stars)
   Halloween - October (Pumpkin Seeds)
Fall Leaves - November (Pristine Leaves)
Snowball Fight - December (Crystallized Snowflakes)

Riding Schools
Sending your horses to a riding school always has a chance of rewarding you with treats, with the chance depending on which type of lesson you choose. Both group and private lessons are 5% per hour completed while trail riding lessons are 30% per hour.

Farmstead
The farmstead is divided into the farm and orchard. Both function somewhat differently but still require daily care to maximize how many treats you produce.

Leisure Rides
Every time you click through a leisure ride you have a chance to find various items depending on the location. Finding items here comes in two ways: either the item is given to you automatically or you will be given a prompt and have a chance to earn the item by clicking the right option. Where applicable I have noted what option you have to pick to find the item, otherwise assume it's a random drop from just clicking the ride button.

The Fountain
Both the "wish for items" and "wish for the horses" options give items, but wishing for the horses has a chance of giving other things such as currency, 2 days of an auto-tool, or extra stats for a random horse. *The pool of available items does not include event specific items. Because almost everything else can be found here I will not list the Fountain as a possible location for regular items.

Junk Yard
This is where all your discarded items go! To actually delete items from the game you have to trade it into the general store. Since pretty much anything can be discarded, pretty much anything can be found in the junk yard. The chance of finding something besides tack is pretty low however. Because almost everything can be found here I won't list it among possible locations for each item, just to keep things from getting redundant.

Consumables
Treats come in 3 kinds: single stat, discipline specific, and multi-stat.
Single stat treats only raise one type of stat and are the most common. All single stat treats come in 2 types, single use and "packaged" general store versions. The only real difference between them is where they are obtained and that single use treats can be converted into their general store version but not vice versa.
Discipline specific treats raise two stats and are currently very rare in game. The stats that are raised depend which discipline the treat is meant for.
Multi-stat treats raise any of the 5 stats randomly, they range from very common to rare.

Tack/Other
A couple notes:
General store tack is always in it's default color and the lowest grade. To obtain tack with a different color and/or a higher grade you must either dye/upgrade it yourself, buy it from other players, or find it in the Junk Yard.
Tack boxes contain a full set of grade 1/5 discipline tack: 1 bridle, 1 saddle, 1 set of splint boots, and 1 tail guard.
Tack can also be rarely found in the Mountain Path leisure ride through the "Take the Tack" prompt. It has a fairly high chance of failing and even when successful, the tack will be only 1/5 grade and very low durability.

Bridles - General Store for $200
Saddles - General Store for $300
Splint Boots - General Store for $150
Tail Guard - General Store for $150
Tack Box - General Store for $750
Cloth Dye - General Store 5x uses for $500
Leather Dye - General Store 5x uses for $100
Seed Packets - General Store 5x uses for $100 (Carrot, Turnip)
Tree Seeds - General Store for $500 (Green Apple, Red Apple, Yellow Apple)
Welcome Pack - given at the start of the game

Uses
Some items may not have an obvious way of using them.
