Okay, I know why I can't do this. Even though I don't agree with it, this isn't what's annoying me.

Most all of my horses have "deceased" as their parents, so I have no idea who their parents are! So now I have to troll through all my horses to find one that I HOPE isn't too closely related!

Grrrr!

I can see the issue. I like to avoid having an ancestor appear multiple times in a pedigree, and without at least names showing up I have no idea who's related, only that they're not closely related (if I try to breed them).
