Chaps

Hello!! So for my job, my manager recommended for us to get a pair of chaps for the weather. I tried some on athe a local tack store and didn't really like thestyles so I found a used pair online and bought them.

They it perfectly, except the long part that covers the heel might get in the way. (I bought show chaps) does anyone have any experience cutting chaps or leather or what not?? I found a few resources online lol but they are for motorcycle chaps and the style is a bit different.
