What colour is Moreno??!!

Rarity AKA my invisible man


So I bred this horse & obviously he's my little invisible man! but what on earth colour is "Moreno" supposed to be?? A quick google produced nothing much so I wondered if anyone else knew roughly what kind of colour it is so I can visualise him - kinda!

It's fairly similar to perlino imo.

maaybe a bit darker.

It's double cream on a brown base.

Couldn't tell you where it's from, EV's the first instance I've heard of it, haven't come across it anywhere else in genetics.

I totally read this right the first time, it's a perlino-y colour. Have a look at the mustang or the vanner version.

Neither have I, maple. but it certainly is gorgeous!

I've yet to be able to find real world genetic information on it :( but it took awhile for the pearl gene to be recognized too. Maybe it's a new name for pearl?

This here is a pearl, and looks very much like the EV Moreno...so Im wondering if my theory is accurate.

I remember reading somewhere that is was a coat color created by the artist who did the breed art. That is what they called that color, and it stuck I guess.

^^ But would that not defeat the point of these "accurate" genotypes/real world colours we're supposed to be having for the recode?

I don't think it's a new name for pearl, but as I understand it it's double cream on a brown base but even then, that's usually called perlino as it's still agouti just a different type.

The only results for Moreno itself is Moreno the racehorse and El Moreno/Elite Moreno QH horses.

No idea, but I have a moreno stud myself, a GV though

but he's covered in white, so you cant really see it too well

It means your horse was born a ghost, but semi returned to life and is now one of the living dead XD honestly I have no idea XD

Moreno really means your horse will explode at a random time, and leave you with 200k and a few peppermints in its place.
