Showing Query

#243894 Posted on 2021-07-21 17:11:08

Hi
I have bought some horses from the rescue with really good conformation / National/International level.  Their stats appear to be good (to me) but they have not been placing well.  I am happy to put them all in the riding school if they prove to be inadequate at showing.  Looking for some advice on the beginners division, please.

Hello there!
If it's the Paints and Quarter Horses in that division their non-specialty stats(nss) are a little high for showing. You generally want your nss to be under 60 or 70 at most to be very competitive. It's a little different in the international level and the levels can be looser, but still lower is better.
There's some good information in the Help section and some more extensive guides in the Guides forum, Eliza's Guide is a good short intro, and you can check out my Guide to Successful Showing for a more in depth discussion if you prefer!
