What affects show results?

Sorry, I didn't know how to word it otherwise!
Are the show results based on the horse's stats? Or is it conformation? Or both? Does the conformation help the horse do SOMETHING? Sorry, I'm so confused!

I am eager to hear this answer. I would hope that same statted horses would then be judged on best conformation.

I think it must have something to do with stats, as adding tack to your horse increases the stat level in relevant areas, and the higher level the tack, the more stats the horses has in relation to shows :)
There must be a reason for tack, and the feature to improve the levels of tack, and I'm guessing it's the stat increase, to allow horses to do better in shows :)

Yes, stats are the main factor, particularly stats in the specialties for the type of show. Conformation also plays a part, as well as how well the horse has been cared for.

Don't forget about the element of luck! Along with Stats(discipline stats being most important), Confo(I think) and Care(the daily stuff), there's a small percentage of luck involved in Shows which allows for the "top" horses to not always stomp out the other horses.
