Sab’s Guide to

Maximizing Deluxe Potential

How to get the most out of your deluxe features.

Whether you’re just starting out fresh on the new road of deluxe or a longtime player looking for a way to get an edge we’re here to discuss everything your stable and your purchased features can help you with.

Opening Your Stable
There are three main features to your new stable, the barn, the arenas and the riding school. Each feature gives you different ways to save or make money either by using the services yourself or by opening those services to the public.

Barn and Boarding
The Barn allows you to offer boarding or board your own horses. You start out with a small number of stalls(unconfirmed, new deluxes help me out!) and can buy more from the Stable Expansions page located at the bottom of your stable page. Stalls are fairly cheap running just $1500 per 5 stalls ($300 per stall equivalent), but don’t get too carried away. I recommend getting enough to house your own horses before opening any for boarding.
To start getting boarders you must open your stalls to the public and set a boarding fee. This is done in the “Update Stable Settings” box on your stable page. To have public stalls you enter the amount you want to open(no greater than the total amount seen to the right) in the box next to “Public Stalls”. Each time you buy more stalls you will have to manually adjust this number if you wish to make more stalls open as stalls are private by default.
When viewing your barn (Stables page > View Barn) you can see all the horses you have boarded there followed by outside boarders and their days left of boarding, There is a direct message link under each horse to allow easy contact for boarders. You will also see a “Kick” button if the horse is not up to date on it’s board fees. You may kick horses individually or use the “Kick All Unpaid Horses'' button at the bottom to remove horses that have negative days paid from your stable. Horses will not automatically be kicked. If you want to keep people coming back it's recommended not to kick every single day(it also takes a while to load if you have a lot of horses!), check in one a week or so to see how your ratios are doing. There's a sweet spot somewhere in the middle of ruthless booting and allowing freeloaders! Personally I go in about once a month or so but I have an inordinate amount of stalls available so it's what works for me.

Riding School
The Riding School is a feature of deluxes that you simply have to set up and forget about! Just go in and open it and it will be put into the random entries that are shown when users search for a riding school to use. Riding schools don’t make a ton of money but they’re free to start so a great investment. You can also post a short description on the riding school page that others will see. to make for easier entering I recommended you don't put too much there to make scrolling less of a hassle!
*Note: You will not gain any money from using your own riding school.

Arenas-Training
New Arenas start out with 5 spaces with each additional space costing $5000 this makes arenas quite in investment to expand, however the faster you expand the more horses you can accommodate. Once you have leveled up your arena if you change the discipline you will revert back to Novice grade arena, this is why I recommend establishing arenas for each discipline at the start before you start upgrading. There are a lot of arenas out there so in order to be desirable having the lowest fee will help you gain more customers.
*Note: using your own arenas to train your horses will not get you any monetary benefit on your stable page, only the cost savings of doing it elsewhere
*Note2: Recommended to get a few novice level horses to train if you don’t have any to build up your arenas to the level you need for your horses. Or put an ad out in the forums and pay people to use your arenas (I did this for one of my spare and it worked very well!).

Arenas-Show Making
Undoubtedly the best money maker of your new deluxe is the ability to make shows. You control your income and this is the only place where you can get money out of your own product if you enter. Shows are created from the Shows page and you may create up to 200 shows per day. Each arena grants you 10 more spaces for making shows so you need a total of 20 arenas to have the maximum creation ability. You receive 20% of the money of the entry fee for each horse.
*Want some help getting your first arena or two? Check out the Arena Acquisition Assistance program

Getting Established
Choose a name to describe your stables whether you just call everything by your name or have a running theme brand your stable to make it stick. Using themed or similar names for all your items draws the eye of those looking for a new place to board, train or send their horses to riding schools. For example my stable is called Touchstone Stables, my Riding School is Touchstone Riding School, and my arena and show names match up by discipline so I’m running a theme of Garth Nix’s Old Kingdom.

Advertise Your Stable
Currently EV does not have an advertising board for services. Stable ads could theoretically go in a few places Equiverse Chat, the Looking For section, or Item Sales(most recommended). If you do make an ad be sure to include links to your stable, Arena Page and Riding School to make things easy for people to quickly get to where they want to be. It also helps to advertise your stable as a service on your main account page, or in your status for the online page.

Other Deluxe Features
Besides just having an awesome stable that will save and earn you money there's some other awesome features in the deluxe wheelhouse to make the game easier and give you more cool things to do.

Time Saving Features
Along with the Stable and it’s addons there are some time saving features for deluxe players that really help out with large herds. The most prominent being the “Vet All” and “Shoe All” for your herds on your Horses page and the “Repair All” button for tack repair in the Tack Workshop. Additionally you will be able to upgrade all your tack at once for an additional 7% fee.
*Important Note Auto-showing and Auto-care are not included in a deluxe membership but can be purchased separately.

Extra Nifty Perks
-Create a name for yourself and an image with a tag and signature and a html coded layout.
-Create multiple divisions for easy locking and sorting of all your different disciplines, grades, breeds or ages. These divisions you create do NOT go away once you’ve reverted to basic.
-Earn more interest! .25% more on your daily bank balance does add up! Just remember you stop earning interest at 50 million, so it’s best to invest once you get up to that level.
-Create and run your very own Member Club!

How do I get a Deluxe?
Deluxe memberships cost Equiverse Credits(EVC), the premium currency on EV. On the Credit Shop page you can see the options to upgrade. The base cost is 5 EVC per month, but you can get a discount for buying the 6 month (save 8 credits) or 12 month (save 20 credits) upgrades. The 2 year upgrade has the same savings cost as the 12 month upgrade. I highly recommend saving up for a couple months and taking advantage of the discounts if you can!

How can I get EVC?
There's quite a few ways to obtain EVC. The simplest and easiest way to get it is buying EVC through the game function on the credit shop page. Each EVC costs $.50 USD and you can buy in specified bundle amounts through PayPal.
If you can't buy with Real money don't despair, there are other options to obtain EVC in game. On the Credit shop page is the "Credit Sales" section where you can buy EVC securely from other members in exchange for EVD. When you log into your account for 28 days in a row (one full EV "year cycle") you get 2 EVC as a gift. You can sometimes find players selling EVC through the marketplace and ads in the forums. However, please note that any transactions not through Credit Sales or the Marketplace features are not supported by the game and done at your own risk.

In Conclusion
Having a deluxe is a personal choice that is meant to make the game easier. You can be just as successful as a basic member since you can do all the same horse actions as a deluxe member, it just might take slightly longer and cost a little more EVD without the perks of being upgraded. If you have Questions, Comments or Concerns please feel free to post here or pm me at Account #84 and I’ll do my best to sort you out.
