Grapie doesn't like going to the doc

#19121 Posted on 2016-03-14 11:10:26

Welp this happened
So basically over the past month or so (3+ weeks) I have been nauseas and getting pretty bad stomach aches at school. Was home sick today and past Friday so my mother got me into a doctor. All went well, kinda. They kept wondering if it was because of school and I was like "i would have been here so long ago if it was coz of stress..."
Then bloodwork happened .-.
I apparently have nice veins?
So that happened I have determined two things, one don't let them do it on my right arm (drawing) and two contrary to what they said it hurt more than a shot does...
Great
I do hope it's not anything bad because honestly...

Having good veins is good for you! It makes blood draws way easier and less painful. I have good, but small, veins.

Honestly it kind of sounds like what I went through, and mine was caused by anxiety. Although every doctor I went to asked if I could be pregnant... Even if it seems like you might not be stressed, it's always possible that you're more stressed than you think.

I hope your blood work comes back clean!

It can take a while for symptoms to show up, I believe.

Grapie, it's not as bad if stress/anxiety is the cause! Although, since you are under 13, I don't think your treatment would be the same as mine.

LOL I know when I was feeling bad, I was looking up reasons online on why I was nauseous and puking and it SCARED me

As someone who has a multitude of stomach problems as well as anxiety, just hang in there! Last year I was in and out of the nurse for the majority of the year.. first the stomach pain, which would make me get anxious about being sick, which made the pain worse.. a never ending cycle. I missed a ton of school, and it was actually questioned whether or not id have to do summer school to make up for all my absences, luckily my good grades saved me!

Apparently I had a vitamin D deficiency, among other things, which surprised me as I was pretty much out in the sun 24/7 with Lashley, the other problems I would prefer not to dive into. Ended up having an endoscopy done, figured out the problems and this year I've been fairly healthy!

I was so confused for a min because u changed ur name again xD

Glad you're doing well! ♥ ♥

My school doesn't do summer school so no problems there xD and since I'm technically ahead anyway it shouldn't ever become a possibility.

My mother says they should know at least what it is (virus, bacterial or whatever) by sometime tomorrow all I can say is I dang hope I don't have to get more blood drawn... Thing is after that if it isn't just some weird virus they probably have to do stuffs to figure that out too...

danger days, it is a vicious cycle that does make you feel worse and worse.

Grapie, for now, if you can concentrate on things that make you happy and try to recreate a scene (smell, sound, as well) that made you feel happy and relaxed, it will at least maybe make you feel more relaxed and not focus on your illness!

Heh, I'm sneaky.
If they can't figure things out and you do end up getting and endoscopy, don't freak out. The worst part is the IV, it's a little bit weird when you first wake up from the anesthesia but besides that it's not a huge deal!

VERY VERY SNEAKY

I honestly was expecting them to just go "oh you have a virus" but yet I wasn't to shocked by the whole drawing blood things, actually I had brought headphones just incase (I blast music so I don't freak out to much around needles) also because I knew I'd be waiting.
Bleh
My main worry is teachers, my momma is gon chat with them tomorrow about it because it's quite likely that I'll be missing quite a bit of school and going home early.
And actually if this is stress related I will most likely be homeschooling next year which actually already was a possibility because... Well. Ya
BUT ASIDE THAT
YUP IM BEING ALL HAPPY AND SHTUFFSSS
:D :D :D :D

I've also had an endoscopy done, I had it done in December 2015 due to nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and fatigue. Wasn't bad at all, and I too have nice veins xD Needles don't really bother me, but i've had a lot of medical problems since I was younger so I guess i'm used to them. The worst part for me was all the school I missed (when you're in the middle of high school the work adds up quick).

Hope you feel better ♥
