*Auto Training Tool?

#169398 Posted on 2018-05-04 08:41:52

We have Auto Showing, and Auto Care, why not an auto training too?
I love playing this game, but sometimes I am so busy, that I do not have time to sit and train the horses. Plus I'm lazy sometimes.
Yay or nay?

I don't think this is necessary. Training is not necessary either, so if there is not enough time for you to train, just skip it for the date. Besides, training your horses only takes a few minutes, usually 2-3 minutes for my 110 horses.

I support this because it can only help the game - Abbey gets more funds from people buying credits and people train quicker. Although this suggestion is unnecessary, it cannot harm the game or the players :) In other words, the worst the suggestion can do is not affect anything, and the best: encourage players to enjoy EV and bring more money into the game/Abbey :)

I support for the same reason as Io. If there's more credit things to buy the more money Abbey and the game gets. I myself probably wouldn't use it simply because I don't like to buy things like that where I can just as easily do it manually. I only spend credits on Deluxe time. I never buy auto-show or auto-care or credit items.

Yes please.

Agreed with above, but also find it strenuous to train upwards of 300 horses every day. It is a necessity to me since I show, and the stat boosts help a lot for my breeding program.

Support! I don't need it right now but I might would like to have that feature if I ever owns more than 200 active horses. It is harmless tool like auto-feed and auto-show since it won't have any impact to those who don't use it. Io brought up good point as well.

No support. If you automate the game too much, then what is the point of playing...?

@ Evermore: it is up to people if they want to use autos. Personally, I only use autos when I am very busy. Without those autos, I would've left the game long time ago. The last time I was too busy, training actually take up too much time so I ended up locking my horses for months. I could've keep playing with auto-training feature. By now, I probably will be on my 3rd generation and open my lines to public. However, I had to lock my account so I am still on 1st generation.

Automate the game is an option for players with busy life. We can have more active players on EV if we provide them that option.

If you don't need that, then just don't pay for autos. Nobody is forcing you to go automate routine.

I am curious, if there was a feature like this would we still gain the XP points for training? That would make a big difference on whether or not I took advantage of such a feature.

In general though I think it is a great idea. There are days I get almost everything done with my horses, then lock a crap ton of them because I do not have the time/energy to train. When you work with multiple disciplines/levels it can be a pain.

@ Olympea, I believe that all current autos functioned like normal features. Therefore, auto-training should provide all proper XP/Boost Point/Etc like manual.

I'm curious as to how your auto training would work? I honestly struggle to see how it could be implemented.

Autocare is easy, it updates the same functions for each horse and only has to look for treats assigned + assign the correct stats.

Autoshow just has to look at horse discipline, level and your showing option. There aren't that many shows to begin with and it only has to look for 10 per horse.

But training, how do you expect to train all discipline and level horses? Particularly with 100s of arenas with different levels and prices, even if you were to narrow it down by discipline and level, that's still a lot of arenas to consider to train 1 horse. Would it have to be specifically the right arena for it's level or the highest arena and below to train? If it's own arenas only, what if you don't have all the levels? Do you then have to go click auto train on the training search page?

If it's like autoshow, then you might as well be training normally? Showing is a click per horse, training is already one click per horse. Quicker if you use your own arenas/use national arenas only.

I can also only dread to think how long it would take to process training for hundreds of horses in one go. Tack repair used to take a good 5-10 minutes for hundreds of pieces before it was optimised, and that was just turning 4 pieces per horse to 100%.

I can understand the want to automate it, but I honestly don't think it's worth it. Showing is automated to reduce 11 clicks per horse to 1, care from 6-7 clicks per horse to 1 for a group of horses. Training is already 1-3 clicks max per horse, same for riding school if using the same lesson types, so I just don't see a need to do it.

I agree with maple completely.

I'll also add that I have 450+ active horses right now and training really doesn't take more than 20-30 min. when I focus on that particular task. I even train my horses in the correct grade and discipline. One of the reasons it doesn't take very long is that I have my divisions organized in a manner that facilitates quickly training horses.

I agree with Andromeda’s point - no one has to use it :)

@ Maple - like treats, we can assign 1-3 training arenas to horses. first arena is primary, second and third are back up if first one had no slots left.

If 400+ horses are taking too long to load, maybe auto training can be break down to 10 horses per a click or something.

I like Eliza's suggestion better.

Perhaps if there was a train all button alongside the train button for each arena?
Then we could at least train all horses in the correct grade and get that boost, it wouldn't be as optimal as doing it manually and getting the maximum amount of exp for getting the correct discipline as well but it that doesn't effect the horses at all, just the player experience gained.

As someone who has slow internet and a short attention span training 120 horses usually takes a half hour :P
