Equiverse Driving Society - Judge ApplicationsOPEN

#16652 Posted on 2016-03-08 01:29:48

Hello everyone! This is the official thread for Equiverse Driving Society!

https://www.equiverse.com/group.php?id=28

I am pretty much obsessed with all things driving and decided to make a society for those who enjoy it in Equiverse. I'm still developing my ideas and getting everything set up, but I wanted to go ahead and open up the post for advertisement and any ideas YOU would like to see for the club!

For now I'm going to use this thread to list out my plans and talk with everyone about what they would like to see.

Current Plans:

- I have a secondary account that has a year upgrade that will co-run the society with this one and will keep track of all the club money, credits, and prizes.

- We have member hosted driving shows that will have Combined Driving Events, Country Pleasure, Western Country Pleasure (Stock Type Driving), Draft Pleasure and Obstacle based on various stats! (See our show document for details!)

- All breeds will be allowed in the club as all breeds can drive!

- Google spreadsheets to keep up with points and show results.

- Prizes/ribbons/trophies monthly and year end for the different classes.

- Google docs and forms to help aid entering shows and giving information.

- Host a monthly drawing based contest for characters.

More to come!

To Do List

- Finish the Layout
- Finish the show system
- Finish the point system
- Finish up the show document
- Finish up the judges document
- Finish up the entry form templates for members
- Finish the show results template for judges
- Make the other Point Standings Spreadsheets for various levels
- Put in the prizes section with links to the the ribbons and trophies I've made.
- Update new items and sections on the main page for EDS
- Post the application for judges and make a news letter announcement.
- Make and post up the Spotlight horses form
- Work on getting us a chat (possibly Slack) for club meetings

If you have any comments on or ideas you would like to see in the club, feel free to post here!

Welcome to the club and thank you for your interest!!

Points system and point sheet with classes listed are up! I will be posting more information tomorrow about judges and opening up applications for judges! I will also explain how show entries will work and the entry forum for the shows! Polishing up the entry forms a bit more tonight before posting them! I'm excited to get things rolling!

Hello everyone! It was brought to my attention that people may want classes for their characters as well as their EV Horses. Originally the club was planning to just do EV horses... but I like the idea of giving to people with characters as well.

This is what I am thinking:

We will have CHAR classes for characters only to be entered. So CHAR Driving Conformation, CHAR Color Class, CHAR Country Pleasure, CHAR Western Country Pleasure... ETC.

These classes will have their own entry form and their own points sheet. Results will be listed separately as well, though it may be on the same results sheet. You will enter your characters and winners will be drawn randomly except for color classes where the judge gets to pick their favorites. There will be no levels to the divisions like there is with EV horse classes.

Then once a month each of our judges may hold a special CHAR show where contestants must draw their Characters driving. These will run like the horse sim clubs on Deviantart where they will be judged on quality and accuracy.

Judges may ally to be EV or CHAR only judges or apply for both.

OR Would you rather I just made a secondary club for Character Showing?

What are y'alls thoughts on this?

I have the show system for EV horses hashed out and am almost done with the judges application form!

Quick question:
I may be just sleepy and missing it but would the shows be like harpg role play style or like EVs show system based on stats ect? How exactly would they work?

I'd be interested in them either way!
Also I think character shows should be part of the club. No reason to make a new club!
I love driving and am excited for this. :)

I am still putting the finer points on the show system before I put it on the club page, but it will be stat/care based. As of right now there are three levels your horses may show in:

Driving Classes will have Beginner (0-150 points), Intermediate (151-250 points) and Advanced (Above 250 points.)

So for example there will be:

Beginner Country Driving Pleasure
Intermediate Country Driving Pleasure
Advance Country Driving Pleasure

Each level will have its own points sheet, so ignore that there is only one point sheet up currently on the club. It is just my template.

Driving Conformation is Beginner (Conformation score of 50 or below,) Intermediate (Conf score of 51-75) and Advanced (Conf score of above 75.)

If there are two horses that have the same number of points in the stats a random generator will be used.

Color classes will be chosen by judge's personal tastes and have no divisions.

All character classes will be chosen by a random generator, except the special once a month shows that will be judge on drawing quality and accuracy.

I hope that helps explain how the shows will run a little better. I will have up how to enter, judge the shows and finish the points sheets in the next few days!

Shows will be entered via google forms (So we don't clutter up the forums) and results will always be posted via google sheets. :)

Thanks for the clarification regarding shows. Regarding characters, I don't mind either way whether they are also included.

Good evening ladies and gents! I've been trying to knock out some more of the checklist here on the forum and have knocked out putting up the results sheet and updating/finishing the show document with CHAR classes added in. I almost have the judges document to welcome new judges and the judges results template finished, so I thought I would go ahead and open the applications for judges.

Here are the basic requirements and rules for being a judge:

- You must own at least 1 driving horse and be a member of the Equiverse Driving Society.
- You must be able to make a google account. You may make one upon being accepted. In fact we encourage you to make one just for judging and NOT to use your real name. (You'll notice my account name is Akeema Akazara, which is my gamer tag.
- You must be comfortable using Google Forms and Google Sheets. If you are unsure, I can help you!
- You MUST hold a show Twice in a month, though weekly shows are encouraged. No more then 4 shows per month may be held.
- Offering prizes are optional, but it is up to you to provide the prizes for your individual shows.
- Judges may not charge more then a 100 EVD entry fee except for Potluck classes. (Pot luck classes are where contestants pay an entry fee and the entry fee is put into a pot which is split among the winners. There can be winner take all pots. Potlucks must always be drawn at random.)
- Judges may not enter their own shows.
- Judges must send me the results of their last show for the month by the last day of the month. It is encouraged to always have your shows close a day or two before the last day of the month.
- Judges are also required to post their show results via a google sheet so that everyone may see their results for that show.
- Shows must be open to everyone so that all may enter.
- You must read over the following about our show system: Click Here for the Show Document

By filling out this application you agree that you have read the rules and requirements for being a judge and that you understand you can be removed from being a judge should you not follow these rules or meet the requirements.

If you agree to all of the above and believe you will be capable of being a judge please fill out the application form from the link below. I look forward to working with you all!

Click here to go to the application!

I am hoping to get our first shows open by next week!!

We will start our shows the first of April! Be sure to send in an application if you are interested in becoming a judge!

I do believe that it will be better if we operate off spreadsheets for entry forms then google forms. This will keep the shows easier to judge for the judges! I hope to have the show spreadsheets done later today!
