This suggestion has been marked as "Added To The Game". Thank you, Trouvaille, for the suggestion and to those of you who supported for making Equiverse better!

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but from what I've seen nobody is talking about this.

So, I've had people buy my horses and then proceed to neglect them or dump them in the RC(some who do this over and over on my rescue account, obviously just doing it to be malicious). I really don't like this happening, so I decided to block myself on my two spare accounts and see exactly what the blocking feature does. I noticed when a player is blocked they can still buy horses from you(and I'd imagine use stud and broodmare services, but I didn't test that).

I'd like more features to be added to blocking(as far as I know it only prevents blocked players from messaging you). Such as..

-Inability to buy horses from players who have blocked you

-Inability to use stud and broodmare services from players who have blocked you

-Inability to comment on forum posts by players who have blocked you(please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can still comment on threads blocked players posted)

I know that I could sell my horses via private auction, but it can be very tough to sell horses that way, and it seems a bit ridiculous to do that when I could just block a few players and then everyone else would be free to buy horses from me.

No support.

Just because a one person interprets something, does not mean that is how it is. For example, example you used, you think someone is being "malicious" because they are playing the game how they like to play. Who are you to tell someone to play? They bought the horse, it is theirs to do as they please. There is certainly no shortage of horses here.

Don't like who buys your horses? Put them up for bid only and hand select who buys. The forums are very well managed so if someone makes a nasty comment, then they will certainly be dealt with so no need to, essentially, ban them from using certain places in the forum. Also, you can always put mares/stallions up for "private" breedings.

In conclusion, all of these you suggested are basically already in the game, ergo, no support.

I feel like the whole point of blocking someone is to completely distance yourself from them. If I block someone, it's because I thoroughly dislike what they do and because I just don't want to interact with them. And if you put your horses up for private breeding or private bid, they don't do nearly as well they would if they were public.

@Nyx The reason I interpret what they do as "malicious"(that was probably not the correct word to use, I apologize) is because they do it very often, and when I attempt to message them asking if there would be any chance of buying the horse back, I get no response.

Yes, I could put my horses up for private auction or private stud/brood, but as The Dark Lady said, they never do as well. Also, I'd prefer to block one or two players from interacting with my horses or my forum posts at all, and everyone else gets to interact as they please.

As The Dark Lady said(I'm very bad at putting my thoughts into words, so thank you): "I feel like the whole point of blocking someone is to completely distance yourself from them. If I block someone, it's because I thoroughly dislike what they do and because I just don't want to interact with them". I just don't feel like the block we have now is quite enough.

(Although I may have to agree with you on the whole forum thing, they are very well managed and probably don't need anything changed, just a suggestion there)

I'd support if the different blocking options could be individually selected. So if you wanted someone to be blocked from messaging you, but you don't care if they buy your horses then that would be an option, but if you did want to block them from interacting with you completely that would be an option too. You should also be able to adjust blocking options at a later time, in case you need to expand the block or wind things back. Something you could customise with some tick boxes would work well.

@UlyssesBlue I didn't even think of that, I definitely agree with you.

You should be able to choose a button when selling or transferring a horse to someone saying if they can put the horse in a rescue center or sell them to another player. That might be a partial fix to your problem.

@Northeast
I will have to strongly disagree. When you give up a horse to the rescue center or another player, that horse is no longer yours. Because it is no longer your own, the new owner may do whatever they like with that horse, whether it is to resell, breed, kill, etc.
Previous owners cannot dictate what happens to a horse that is no longer theirs.

@Northeast I have to agree with RemRem, if all of those limitations were added, it would be even tougher to sell horses than it already is (which is one of the reasons I suggested this, since it's nearly impossible to sell horses through private auction, especially if they're not the most valuable). I know I wouldn't want to buy from other players if I didn't have freedom to do what I wanted with the horse after purchasing, and I'm sure many people would agree with me.

I don't dislike people for killing or dumping horses they bought from me, I'd just prefer that they didn't have the option of buying from me, because that's not what I'd really like to happen to my horses.

The reason I suggested the features that have to do with selling horses is because I really don't want the sale taking place at all. I feel like it would be much easier to block a few players who I strongly disagree with, and them let everyone else be able to buy my horses and do what they like with them.

I definitely feel there needs to be more features to the block button.

I'd take what you stated in your original post a step further: not even being able to see a player's forum posts, page, horses, anything. Basically neither person ever sees the other. That's what I think of when I think blocked. -shrug-

Bringing this suggestion back to life as I was about to type up a thread for it.
I'd like the blocking feature to include sales, stud/brood, market sales/trades and credit sales.
I'd like to be able to block people who are not adhering to the code of conduct the site has as well as have the ability to distance myself from players who I may have issues with.

No support.
I think this would SIGNIFICANTLY impact gameplay in a negative way. People will block people for the sake of not allowing them to buy their horses simply because they don't like what the new owner does with them. But what people need to understand is that when you sell a horse, YOU don't get a say in what happens to it as you have decided to sell the horse. You made a trade, fair and square. Don't like what happens to the horses you sell? Then don't sell them. Simple as that.

@Eliza, have you reported members who are not adhering to the code of conduct? The mods, in my experience, have been a great help in such situations when they have come up for me. On a similar issue though, there is a current BUG open where players can still message you even after you block them. It would be nice to see this fixed.

I'm all for this. I definitely believe that we should be able to block people from buying our things, ESPECIALLY credits. People who don't adhere to the code of conduct as Eliza stated, absolutely have a negative impact on the EV economy. The last thing I want is to put credits up for sale at a reasonable price to have them snatched up by someone who will turn them around and resell them at an exorbitant amount.

I just want to add, if people are not adhering to the EV Code of Conduct, report them.

However, just because someone has a DIFFERENT PLAYSTYLE than you ("you" being whomever), even one you may not agree with, DOES NOT mean they are breaking the game's Code of Conduct.

I wasn't going to put in my two cents but meh. I like the idea of being able to block people from buying, etc maybe that's just my way of playing, lol. My main pet peeve is people buying the horse just to rename it something like delete or kill or whatever and then doing so, as I feel bad for players who have foals of those horses because, to me, it makes the lines look ugly and what if someone happened to have two horses that this was done to in the lines, it might look like inbreeding then and could potentially make them lose future sales on that horse's foals.

I actually had to start selling one particular breed by bids only as I had one player who kept buying them just to do such a thing and so to stop that from happening I did it. These were good horses too on many occasions, low nss stats, 1k plus stats, good colors/no grey, few to no foals of their own. I would continuously have to delete their bid on one of my horses after this because they didn't seem to get that I wasn't going to sell it to them (and I mean it was a bid almost every single day on the same horse, I actually renamed it No Player Name and they still bid on it and I couldn't message them why I wasn't selling it to them because they had actually blocked me XD).

I don't mind so much people buying the horses and killing them when they leave the names alone, though it does still somewhat bug me as I keep all the tack fully upgraded/cared for and I'm really just trying to make good horses available to newer players who don't have the funds, but it doesn't bother me as much as the ones who rename it kill or delete as I stated before and my reasons. Plus I do take it the not so desirable horses to help players who just don't want to throw the horse into the RC (and I do pay them for it whereas they have to pay the RC to dump the horse), so I know that people who are trying to "clean up" the breeds will buy them.

Half of me wishes that once a horse was named it was named (unless of course mod reset because someone used a bad name, etc) but the other half of me, the half that likes to organize horses based on stats when it comes to breeding and therefore may need to change horses' names around to keep a theme going is glad that isn't such a thing. But that is another thought for another day, I'm sure XD

In conclusion, I'm for having different levels of blocking, it would be nice and I would like to play that way, but that's my opinion, take it as you will :)
