*Foal Training Option Tracking

#115634 Posted on 2017-07-26 20:45:43

I'm thinking of either a point system like we have with the adults that show the training options and how many times the foal was trained in a option or at least something that shows the last training option used. I know I cant remember what I trained the foal in the day before most mornings and end up guessing...
This suggestion is really for some way to know what the foal has trained in previously. So we don't keep retraining in the same discipline and can spread it out properly. Not sure on the logistics of what would be easiest to do but it would be nice to have a frame of reference

Foals are not trained in categories, though. You just train them until they reach 3 y.o. age, and then choose the discipline. After that all accumulated stats are allocated automatically.

Do you perhaps mean the things like trailer loading, road training, desensitisation, etc? And you essentially just want to know which ones of those the horse has already done? If so, I would support. It would be helpful to ensure a good variety of foal/yearling training.

Something like "Yesterday [horse] trained in [something]." or "[horse] has so far been trained in X, Y and Z.

Ulysses That's exactly what I mean.  What would you call the training options? I guess categories was incorrect on my part....

I'm not sure if there's an official name for them. I might call them foal training options? That's still not very descriptive though, so I don't know. :P
