EV Appaloosa Club Raise A Foundation Survey

Interest has been expressed in running a "Raise A Foundation" Contest. However, I need more members to be willing to participate in the contest before we can run it. If you're interested, please message me or post here...

I know I already sent you a message but I'm putting a post here just so it is easier for you to count how much interest we get :)

With the the contest will it just be one foal,or are you planning on sending two so we raise a colt and a filly (if we choose)?

Also are we starting from foals at 0 or are we starting at horses 3yrs old?

Will work out the details more if we get enough interest but sure, two foals per member would be great! I can take orders on genders/preferred disciplines and create horses with base stats that best suit the discipline the player is looking for...or if players prefer , they can create their own horses.

If we get enough interest, we'd have to decide on a start date and a bunch of other details..but here are some of the rules i used in my last 'raise a foundation' contest...a year ago...


1. Anyone interested in participating in the contest will create up to 2 foundation horse tos start with. ( or if you like,  can create them for you with your desired gender/discipline)

2. Foundation should be 0 yrs

3. Register your contest horses with the ApHC

4. On the first of each month, Ill check the status of each horse and a small prize will be given to the horse with most stats gained and the horse with the most points and most money earned.  Im thinkin 10k for each category

5. At 10 yrs we'll check the status of all entries and a larger prize will be rewarded to the horses with 1 most stats and 2 the most points, most money earned .. Im thinking 50k for each category and one horse can win both categories if they happen to be highest in both.

6. At 20 years of age, we'll review the overall stats of each foundy.... 3 prizes of  100K each will be given out for:

1.  Highest Stats
2.  Most Points Earned
3.  Most Money Earned

Of those 3 finalists...a grand champion will be crowned based on the overall combination of stats, points, money earned. That horse will have earned the title of " All ROUND CHAMPION FOUNDATION APPALOOSA" and they will receive 250K EVD

I would love to see how far the horses get as well.

With the contest start to make it fair shouldn't one person create all the foundations at once and then distribute them on the same day so that its all fair and no on gets a head start above anyone else?

It doesnt really matter when they create them...they can be created and locked...until contest start...as long as all horses start with 100 stats...

I would post all entries here in the club forum so all members could follow their progress...

Alas, we need more interest before we can run this contest...

I'm not a club member but I like appaloosas and would be interested in joining and starting a foundation appy sounds like fun!

Is this something a current non-appy breeder could join? If I join the club and purchase my own pair?
The Trakehner breed is a little slow I think, it'd be fun to help another breed out and have a project :)

@ Xantra and Lucra...we'd love to have you join...in order to participate, you have to be a member of the Appaloosa Horse Club first...
 
I will let everyone know via a newletter when the starting date of the contest will be... and review all the details...

@ MythicalSis, unfortunately, this is a breed club contest and therefore only available for people who wish to enter appaloosas...I would suggest joining the Lippizaner club and suggesting to Wonder Wiki ( the current president) that you'd be interested in participating in a raise a foundation contest for the lippizaner club
