DWB Questions

#10333 Posted on 2016-02-26 10:06:21

I just picked up some DWBs because I love the art. But I have some questions.

-What do you compete your DWBs in?
-What base color is more desirable chestnut or black?
-Is grey a big no for you or not?
-Are you planning to breed for conformation?
-Other?

1. My DWBs compete in Driving and Endurance.
2. I like all of the base colors.
3. Grey is fine with me. I made 6 custom roan horses to start with and will add the grey in later.
4. I'm going for conformation now that its easier to understand.

Like you I love the art too. : )

Mine are on my second account and compete in dressage and show jumping. Show jumping seems to be most popular. I'm not a fan of chestnut so anything but chestnut is good for me. Since there are so limited colors I don't really mind grey. I breed for purely stats until there's more info about how breeding for conformation works.

-What do you compete your DWBs in?
Show Jumping.

-What base color is more desirable chestnut or black?
Personally I prefer black.

-Is grey a big no for you or not?
I like greys, I don't mind them at all.

-Are you planning to breed for conformation?
I am not, because I'm lazy and don't like working out confo pairs. I just breed for stats primarily and colour second. If I end up with a 90+ confo horse then that's not going to be planned. xD

-Other?
The art is amazing, especially the double tobiano but so is the Trake art. ;3

-What do you compete your DWBs in?
Jumping

-What base color is more desirable chestnut or black?

I don't care about color, I only breed them for stats.

-Are you planning to breed for conformation?
I will take confo into account when matching breeding pairs, but my main focus will remain just stats.

What bothers me with DW's is that all the quality DW's have the same horses showing up in their pedigrees over and over...
It is very hard to find fresh blood.

Thanks for the information Feline.

I feel that the problem you illustrated is common for all breeds, maybe the inbreeding block will help to eliminate the problem some.

I thought you couldn't inbreed on the old version.

Inbreeding was allowed on the old version, but isn't allowed now.

-What do you compete your DWBs in?
Show Jumping & a small few in Dressage

-What base color is more desirable chestnut or black?
I don't mind what colour they are as long as they have good stats!

-Is grey a big no for you or not?
I've always liked greys on EV even when no one else does!!

-Are you planning to breed for conformation?
At the moment Im still in old EV mode - concentrating on stats - but If I felt my horses were at a massive disadvantage I'd start looking at confirmation pairing but at the moment its a no. Also Im lazy too!! So unless someone comes up with a formula on what to breed with what ....

-Other?
Ive waited years to see the new Dutchie art & I love it. Also I have expanded into Trakes because of their art too.

It would be nice for more dedicated breeders to get a Dutchie herd going as it is had to find bloodlines without certain horses in it. But that should even out now thanks to the inbreeding block. I avoided inbreeding like the plague but each to our own!

I avoid inbreeding and line-breeding as well with my horses. Thxs for the input. I'm thinking that I may put them into Show Jumping.

What do you compete your DWBs in?

Show jumping.

-What base color is more desirable chestnut or black?

I don't really have a preference.

-Is grey a big no for you or not?

As long as it's not GG.

-Are you planning to breed for conformation?

My priority is confo, then stats.

-Other?

Yay more DWB breeders!
