"Inactive for now!"

In the middle of a sprawling forest, identifiable only by subtle marks scraped into the blanket of moss that clings to the wet soil, sits a little cabin. It is entirely unassuming, utterly mundane in every aspect - except for the massive clearing it sits in. The land has clearly been tended but in such a way that it look almost as if the forest itself decided what goes where; grass here, mushrooms there, a tiny little pond wreathed by weeping willow trees there. The dense canopy appears to have peeled back, hollowing out a little pocket of bright sunshine that makes the foliage almost sparkle.

There is no fence pushed into the soil, no signpost, no indication of life upon first blush, but if one stops to listen they would quickly discover the woods appear to be teeming - but with the most curious choice of wildlife. Young horses, from unsteady newborns to spirited yearlings, in every color under the sun and identified - seemingly - by a series of colored tags. Their coats are fluffed and their manes tousled, adapted to living in this area, but despite their wild looks they are immediately friendly - if a little pushy for treats.

Welcome to Fairweather Foalshome.

Hiya! My name is Ohta, and this is my third account. I run a retirement home on the side, so why not an orphanage too? Fairweather is home to horses under the age of maturity. I adopt promising candidates mostly from the Rescue Center, raise them until adulthood and then give them a second go around.

Why adopt a horse only to get rid of it again? The traditional gameplay of raising/breeding top tier horses isn't as fun for me. For many people, horses appeal more than foals because they're immediately useable in competitions, training, breeding etc.
What counts as 'promising' to you? Several things, but primarily I look at what stands out in a grown RC horse: interesting markings, unusual coat colors, good conformation, high stats. I do not breed or raise cutting-edge competition horses(just a grab bag of cute babies!) so you are unlikely to find a champion here. I am, after all, picking through the site's garbage bin.
How do you raise your foals? Much in the same way most people do, I assume. I look at the foal's highest stats and go from there. They get an appropriate treat, but it's up to the future owner, if any, to decide what that horse's end result is going to be.
How are horses 'adopted'? There's a dedicated sales division on my farm, but I may plop some horses back into the Rescue Center if I feel like they're likely to be picked up again.
Do you keep any adult horses? Yes, mostly school horses I think are cute.
