Gelding Question

#68414 Posted on 2016-09-19 20:55:22

So, I noticed on my main account that one of my studs has a terrible confo score. I've pretty much decided to geld him, despite he has a gene that I really like, but his confo is just making me cringe. My question is, does gelding a stallion give them any sort of boost in shows/riding schools, or no?

I do not believe that there has been any kind of advantage given to geldings from a showing perspective. As far as gelding goes, it really just depends on what your goals are with your horses. I breed for stats, color and rare genes, so a below average conformation doesn't bother me as much if the horse meets another one of my goals. Most players only geld lined horses that they do not want to be bred either by themselves or other players when they are sold. Also, most players that have geldings have them to boost their player points or member XP, or place them in riding schools for extra money. I think that most players just pick these geldings up from the rescue center rather than buying them too.
