IF YOU ARE NOT MYSTICMEMORIES OR I DO NOT POST PLEASE.

Tawney screamed angrily as her father stood in the kitchen yelling at her, her mother standing behind him crying, and her brother no where to be scene. "Dad! You don't mean that...do you?" Tears streamed down her pale but fair cheeks, her eyes red from crying and her grey hoodie's sleeves soaked from wiping them.
She didn't know what to do, as her father continued to yell at her, screaming that she was a sinner and wasn't the daughter he had raised. She was so lost in the feeling of hate towards her. She turned, running to her room, grabbing a bag and throwing some clothes, her phone, money, and a small stuffed dog into it. Running downstairs she opened the door, slamming it behind her as she walked as quickly as her bruised legs could carry her.
She didn't know where she was going, all she knew was it had to be far, far away from here and this wretched place holding the wretched family that had once been her's. Her feet subconsciously carried her towards the park. It was pretty cold, and windy, so she doubted anyone would be there. Hopefully she was right, as the swings came into view, being pushed around by the relentless wind.

A tall, lean man sat atop the monkey bars, a thick jacket wrapped his torso. His legs dangled, the frayed edge of his jeans dancing. His lone car was parked on the other side of the road, and he debated heading towards it, but the chill day brought much inspiration to the artist's mind. Dan's bright eyes caught a girl, possibly a few years younger than him, scuffling down the side walk, her pretty hair peeping out of her hoodie.

The wind hit her face hard, stinging her eyes as the flow of tears slowed, but still didn't cease. Walking towards the swings, she dropped her bag beside them, sitting on one and pushing herself so she was swinging slowly. She looked over her shoulder, seeing a car parked along the street. She shrugged, ignoring it. Her blue eyes scanned the park for life again, this time she caught something; a man. He looked tall, and older than she.
She quickly looked away, not wanting to be seen crying as she wiped away more tears, which only made the flood over her cheeks all over again. "Why why why why. Just why...." she whimpered quietly as she hid her face in her sleeves and hood, her hair whipping in the wind, and her sniffles growing slightly louder in the wind.
S itting up she grabbed the chains that held up the swing, pushing off with her feet harder, sending a stinging sensation through her foot, as she swung higher in the air.

He watched as the girl launched herself into the air, and something prompted him to go to her. Something in the air told him that she was upset. Turning, he dropped onto the platform below him, causing his hood to drop. His ear tips were pink as he strolled towards her, and then turned, causally sitting in the swing next to her, gazing at the houses beyond.

Without looking up, she knew he was there. His presence made her feel calm, almost as if he was to pacify her and her nerves. Finally she turned her gaze to him, though she wasn't sure if she should speak or not. Decided she should, she turned her head to look at the houses ahead of them, assuming that's what he was looking at, seeing as there wasn't really anything else to look at. The town was bland and unoriginal, just a bunch of nice houses and a church, with a store here and there.
"Why would you put yourself out here in the cold? When you could be inside, watching TV and drinking hot chocolate?" She said, sarcasm tinging her voice as she held her hood up, though it wasn't doing much to withstand the wind.
"I mean, that's where I'd like to be." She muttered, mostly to herself, and somewhat hoped he wouldn't hear. Though with her luck, he probably would.

Dan smirked, turning towards her. "I find inspiration out in the cold." He replied, taking in her looks. She was pretty, but a little young. "We could go grab some, if you'd like." He offered, glancing towards his car. "I have a few RedBox movies I haven't seen, and brownies," His eyes sparkled, "my sister's in fact." He glanced at his hands, wondering if his offer seemed weird. "I'm Daniel by the way."

Her eyes immediately looked up at him, showing her worry about his offer. "Oh uh...I'm Tawney." She stuttered, stopping the swing and standing up off of it, not caring that she got mud all over the bottom and side of her shoe.
"I uh...um...sure. Why not." She shrugged nervously as she turned, bending over to grab her bag. "I don't have anywhere else to go," Tawney said as she looked him over.
He didn't really stand out to her as anything special, if she was being honest. But he was still attractive. Tawney was never good at reading people, and this 'Daniel' was no exception to that. But he still seemed gentle, and caring, but yet unsure of himself.

"Oh, cool." His eyes fell upon her bag. Standing, he stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets, moving around to find his keys. "Are you going somewhere? That bag seems awfully full." His eyes flickered over her, and sensed something was deeply wrong. "Are you ok?" Dan's voice was sincere, his blue eyes misty with worry for his new friend.

(Sorry, left to eat some dindin, xD)

Following his eyes to her bag, she stuffed it behind her back. "N-no. Just lee-leaving somewhere." She muttered as she turned, looking for the car she had seen earlier and began walking towards it, assuming that was his.
Hearing his next question she stopped, turning to look at him. "As ok as someone in my situation can be." She said as optimistically as she could, adding a completely forced fake smile. None of what she was going through was ok, let alone herself.
She resumed walking, waiting on the sidewalk for him, watching as a few cars drove by, most of them people driving towards the church. It was Wednesday afternoon, after all.

He clicked the button, unlocking his car. He jogged towards it, opening up the passenger door for her. "Where are you heading?" He asked, before hopping in on the driver's side. Dan cranked the car on, blasting cold air. He turned the AC off to wait for it to heat up. Slamming his door, he turned towards the girl.

(Me too. School starts tomorrow so I won't be on as much)

(I'm away for school Monday thru Friday 3:55AM-12:15PM game time so don't worry to much about it, ;))

Tawney huffed, shaking her head as she sat in the passenger seat, closing the door as she looked over at him. "I don't know to be honest. My dad kicked me out so I...I...I don't know where to go..." She sighed heavily, her warm breath leaving a cloud from the air in the car being so cold.

"It's not like anyone's gonna be looking for me anyway." She shrugged, forcing herself to seem like she could care less about it, but really it broke her inside to know that not even her younger brother, Tristan, would come looking for her.

"So, where we goin'?" She said somewhat enthusiastically, but it was more so full of false hope that it would be to somewhere that she would actually be acceptec and liked. But she would be happy if just this Daniel guy accepted her.

"Oh, I see," he replied. "I lost my father a few years ago." He muttered. Grabbing the steering wheel he turned out onto the street. "Starbucks, for hot chocolate, and then my place." Dan turned his eyes to her as he came to a red light, "if that's alright with you?"

(I have to go and get ready for school in the morning. ;)

(Alright,)

"Oh, sorry for your loss." She muttered as she looked down at her feet. Hearing him answer her question, she nodded, but realized he probably wasn't looking at her. "Yeah, sounds good." She reached down and took out her money from her bag, tossing it into his lap. "I'll pay." She said, stuffing the rest back into her bag.
"So uh...you said the cold inspired you? You an artist or something?" She said curiously, trying to keep from letting the awkward silence settle in that seemed to feel like an elephant sitting on top of her chest.
Playing with her fingers, running them along her bruised arms, quickly rolling her sleeves down when she realized the bruises were very visible. She looked up at him, admiring how calm he seemed to be, despite her awkwardness.
What did he think of her? An ungrateful runaway brat that doesn't know how good she has it? Probably, that seemed to be what most thought about her. And though she said she didn't care, she did. She really did.

The man gazed at the money, and didn't want to get into an argument, so he picked up a five dollar bill and laid the rest of the money on her lap, his fingers brushing her leg. Looking away, he breathed out, and turned the car into the drive thru of the coffee shop. "Y..yeah, and a writer." He responded, "I don't really like to share my pieces though, some might think they're embarrassing." Dan sighed as they pulled up to the window. He told the overly makeup-ed woman they needed two tall hot-chocolates, one with extra whipped cream. He handed her the five dollar bill and his card. Daniel rolled up the window and gazed into the kitchen.

(Sorry about my absence!!)

(You're fine, I understand. School has been crazy for me as well, I don't expect anyone to give up precious homework/study/etc time to roleplaying, lol)

Shuddering slightly at his touch, she held back a whimper has his gentle fingers slid across her thigh. "Then I won't bug you about it. Your personal stuff is yours." She shrugged, turning her gaze from him to her window.
"Got a girlfriend? Fiance, or wife maybe?" He seemed old enough, in this day and age. Unlike her, probably a baby to him. At least three years younger she guessed. Tawney yawned quietly as she returned her gaze to him, smiling slight as he looked into the kitchen.
He deserved a girl it seemed, sweet and gentle. Everything she wanted in a guy. But her parents could care less about gentle, selfless, kind men. They wanted someone who would, in a sense, keep Tawney locked up in their home while he worked. They believed women were for children and companionship in the home only. At least that's what it seemed.
But Tawney wanted something else. She wanted adventure, fun. To live her life as an adult child, being responsible only when she must. But that seemed impossible, now that she was a homeless seventeen year old girl with no where to go.
