۵Celestial۵

Name: Celestial Maniac
Nickname: Celestial
Age: Seven Years
Gender: Mare
Breed: Thoroughbred x Quarter Horse
Positive traits: Always positive, Strong-willed, Easy going
Negative traits: Anti-Social, Fearful
Neutral traits: Quiet, Conservative, Observant
History: Celestial was born as an accident. Her mother was a Thoroughbred who happened to mingle with a Quarter horse stallion. Celestial's owner decided to keep her as a race project, hoping the Quarter Horse in her veins wouldn't stop her from racing. In the end, Celestial did race quite a few times, winning once or twice, however a tragic accident occurred which forced Celestial off the track. Seeing as they could no longer make money off of her, Celestial's owners bred her once, and then sent both her and her colt off to auction to get more money for a better project race horse. Tragically, the colt and Celestial were bought by separate owners which tore the mare's heart to pieces. Ever since then, Celestial was largely abused by her new owners who worked her to bits and pieces. Her long legs but muscular build allowed her new owners to use her for all sorts of things. From local races, carriage/cart pulling and deliveries. If she didn't win a race, or the daily pulling caused her to wear her down, she would receive beatings which has unfortunately left scars along her legs and back. This torture and abuse left the mare fearful of humans, and eventually other horses which has caused her to be conservative, and anti-social.
Description: Seal brown mare with a chocolate mane and tail. Her eyes are amber colored. Her tail and mane start off relatively thick, but then flow out and becomes thin and soft. She has long legs which take after her Thoroughbred gene, however she has large bones. Her body is slender and built for speed. Stands at 16.1hh. Due to former abuse, she has scars scattered about her back and legs.
Herd: Deceased/Sold.
Foals: One colt sold off at auction.
Sire: Gone to the Wind (Deceased)
Dam: Majestic Failure (Deceased)
Siblings: One deceased sister.
Other:

♠Abyss♠

Name: Malevolent Victory
Nickname: Abyss
Age: Ten Years
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Mustang x American Paint
Positive traits: Protective, Strong, Adventurous
Negative traits: Aggressive, Not Patient, Stubborn
Neutral traits: Independent
History: Born and bred in the wild, Abyss was true as a Mustang could ever be. The only reason he has unusual markings unlike his fellow, solid herd members, was because his mother mingled with a formerly owned Paint stallion who happened to escape from his owners. It was basically a one night stand which led to Abyss. This stallion was always born with a stubborn, independent, and aggressive attitude, who has no patients for anyone. The only other horses he had ever bonded to was his mother, and a close friend who happened to be a mare. Sadly, one tragic day, a helicopter and a group of cowboys rounded up his herd and brought them to a large outdoor auction. The only reason why Abyss had been let go, was because no one was able to handle how aggressive he was to everyone. Ever since then, he has been more sour than ever, wandering the plains alone.
Description: Black and white overo stallion. Mane and tail have a mixture of both black and white colors to go along with his base. His eyes resemble that of an ocean blue. He has four white socks, and a stripe going down his nose. His markings resemble that of a Paint, however he is built to survive harsh conditions just like a Mustang. He stands at 15.4hh.
Herd: Rounded up by Cowboys.
Foals: Currently none.
Sire: Unknown.
Dam: Beyond the Lighthouse. (Missing)
Siblings: Only child.

Xd, that's fine. Since we both have out characters up, I can start.

A Dash of Pepper
Tagged with Celestial Maniac

The paint was dozing. That is, until thirst woke him up. He opened his eyes, feeling with disgust his dry, parched tongue and the heat beating down on him. "Where can a horse find some water around here?" He complained to himself. Back when he was still living at the ranch, water was always nearby. Life had been easy and comfortable. He'd been treated well there. Pepper fondly remembered the little girl who would always bring him treats. He'd loved the sugar cubes and carrots best. Where is she now? Was she safe Pepper wondered, his ears pinning for a moment. After escaping the fire consuming the ranch, Pepper had realized that the entire earth was being destroyed. It was am awful realization that had made him terrified. He was more or less used to his new life now, but loud noises still made him nervous and jumpy. Pepper started moving, his legs moving in a swift canter. Water couldn't be too far and the stallion was determined to find it. The stallion hadn't gotten too far before noticing a horse in the distance. He couldn't tell if it was a mare or a stallion yet, but he could sorta make out the coloring. The horse looked like he or she was brown. His ears pricked, wondering if he should approach.

Venus looked around, her dark eyes wary. Ever since the loss of her herd, the mare had been forced to look after herself. And while that was a daunting prospect, it wasn't winter and Venus was a former lead mare. She knew where the best food, water, and shelter was and even though the recent destruction of the earth made things much harder, Venus was confident in her abilities. Venus needed to find a herd though. There was safety in her numbers. If a pack of wolves found her, Venus wouldn't be able to fight them off. Not without dying. She'd need to rely on speed to escape. Venus shuddered at the thought, and then dipped her head towards the grass, nibbling at it. She rested under a pair of trees. A few others beside them had fallen, probably the result of an earthquake. It was daylight and the sun beat down mercilessly on what was left of the earth. Venus was glad to have found the trees and escape the heat. She'd been pleased when she'd found several patches of grass. The arabian now grazed, lifting her head once in a while to scan her surrondings to look for danger or hopefully, other horses. Venus had never really been a lone mare for more than a few days. Now she got the chance to understand how lonely and frightening it could be. The mare had been alone for almost a week now without someone to talk to. That had been another luxury herds provided.

۵Celestial۵

The mare's ears pinned as she paced around her box stall. Her frail body began to profusely sweat, the heat biting at her flanks and legs. Her barn was ablaze after a severe earthquake shook the entire ranch, large cracks in the ground littered the barn floor and surrounding ground. It had to be some cruel luck that she was trapped in the stall while the other horses were able to run away in all different directions. Knowing she had to survive, Celestial turned around to face away from the stall door, and began pressing her butt up against it. Oh how the heat burned her skin, but she knew this was her only option to escape. Using all her force, the mare used her back legs to slam onto the wooden frame. With each force, she began to grow weaker and her muscles began to ache. After years of abuse, her owners didn't allow her wounds or muscles to heal, therefore she had no strength or endurance left in her. After what seemed like forever, just as she was about to give up, her last effort of strength broke the door off its hinges, allowing her to escape. Without further due, Celestial spun around and bolted off, away from the burning death trap, however, she ended up in a pasture, trapped yet again. The fire was spreading faster, and faster throughout the farm, scorching the earth and turning everything in sight, to ashes. As she came up to the large white fennec, she paced along the wood. There was no way she had enough energy to jump the fence or break through. I could really use some help. She thought to herself. As a last ditch effort, the mare lifted her large brown head into the air and let out a weak, pathetic whinny.

♠Abyss♠

In the distance, the black and white stallion noticed ranches and farms crumbling to the ground from the recent earthquake. Some, he noticed, even were set ablaze. He couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of all those human's homes in ruins. "Serves them right!" He snapped, letting out a nicker of approval. With a flick of his long tail, he turned and began to walk in no particular direction. Even though he was rather cold to humans and tamed horses, he still was in need of a companion. One that was similar to him in the way that they were both wild and free. He loved the thought of running endlessly through the burnt earth with a herd, watching as any living humans struggled to survive with their own horses. However, it did occur to him that he too, would need to survive. Being alone would make the survival harsh, and almost impossible, but Abyss knew he would try. He would try as best as he could until the day he died. That was his only plan. Abyss let out a long huff of air before trotting to the only stream around for miles. As he approached, his ocean blue gaze inspected it for debris from the surrounding farms, and contamination. Satisfied that the stream was clean, at least for now, he dipped his head and began to drink, allowing the clear liquid to slide down his throat, quenching his thirst. This stream would surely be gone in a matter of hours if more tragic weather events would happen, so Abyss decided he would stick close to it and protect it from any other horses. He wanted it to himself, after all, he wanted to survive.

A Dash of Pepper
Tagged with Celestial Maniac

On closer inspection, Pepper noticed the tongues of flame licking at the stables and nearing the mare, who let out a desperate whinny. Sharp daggers of terror struck his heart and he almost turned and ran. The memory of his own barn burning down was struck with fear and he almost turned and ran. But the seal brown mare needed his help. Pepper stared at the mare, striken before relunctantly galloping down towards her. He couldn't just let her die. Pepper reared up and struck at the femce with his hooves to try and break down the fence. "Don't worry, you'll be fine," He reassured the mare, striking at the fence again and again. A fourth hit rewarded him with an ominous cracking sound. One more hit should do it. Pepper reared up one more time and brought his hooves onto the fence and backed up. The fence had broken down and the mare was free to run. "Come on," He called, wheeling around to flee. He didn't look back, confident the mare was frightened enough she'd follow.

۵Celestial۵

As she began pacing along the fence line, the young mare's amber eyes caught movement in the distance. Before she knew it, she was approached by a red and white paint stallion. Instinctively, Celestial backed up quite a distance away, her head lowered in fear. Her gaze was steady as she watched the stallion break an opening the fence before darting off in the opposite direction. This caused the mare to lift her head curiously, unsure of what to do exactly. After all, Celestial wasn't expecting her whinny to alert anyone nearby, at least, nobody that was willing to help her. The sudden snapping of flames behind her, and the flames licking at her tail, singeing it, brought the mare out of her thoughts. Shaking her equine head, she galloped off through the open gap, following the stallion. Despite his help, she feared him, but her herding instinct took over. She knew she had to stick with him, if she were to survive this apocalypse, but she decided she keep her distance, and show submission. She wasn't known to be a leader, or give others orders, but the one to follow them. Her long, slender legs was the only thing allowing her to keep up with the stallion as they kept their distance from the burning ranch, however, she was becoming weaker by the second due to the last bit of her energy being wasted running. As minutes went by, her pace slowed until she was barely walking. Her salmon color tongue hung out her mouth as she began to pant from exhaustion. Its no use. I can't keep up. Too tired.. She thought to herself before finally collapsing from exhaustion. The earth was hot and dry against her sweaty brown, body. A small nicker escaped her gentle lips as she began to lick at her legs, trying to sooth her own muscles.

♠Abyss♠

Abyss lifted his head from the water and glanced around. As the breeze shifted directions, a familiar smell of a horse in the distance caught his attention. Better not be a human's horse. I swear if it is, I'll happily chase it until it collapses from exhaustion, but I'm too lazy to check it out right now. He thought quietly to himself before lowering his head to scratch an itch on his lower right leg. He used his teeth to nibble at a bug bite, all the while grooming his leg, however, the smell of that horse kept grabbing at his attention. "Fine. I'll go take a look." He grumbled, shaking out his relatively messy, long mane before heading off. Abyss lowered his head on occasion to nibble at any surrounding grass that hadn't been destroyed, however, he stayed alert. He didn't want to be sidetracked and ambushed by humans, or predators. He knew the world was ending, but that wouldn't stop either one of them from surprising him, especially the predators. They would be catching and killing just about anything now that everyone is weak from the devastations Mother Nature is throwing at the earth, but Abyss would not allow Mother Nature weaken him. The thought of himself being weak disgusted the stallion. Anyone weak was a burden to him, which is the only real reason why he enjoyed being alone. He enjoyed the help from a herd, but hated caring for the weak as they had always slowed down his adventurous side. Abyss let out a gentle snort from his flaring, black nostrils before he spotted something in the distance. It was indeed another equine, but he wasn't sure if they were tamed, wild, or it's gender. With a flick of his tail, ridding his hindquarters of pesky insects, the unpredictable stallion picked up his pace and approached the stranger, his head and tail held high in dominance and as an aggressive nature. Getting closer, he began to realize this horse was indeed a mare, but was not a human's pet. Stopping a good fifteen feet away, the stallion spoke, "Who are you, and where is your herd?"

A Dash of Pepper
Tagged with Celestial Maniac

Pepper kept running, his fear fading as he began to enjoy the wing whipping past him and cooling the heat from the fire. Distantly, he could hear the mare's hoofbeats pounding behind him and relaxed. Eventually he slowed to a stop and turned to the mare. Only to see she was no where to be found. Pepper frowned, perplexed, before realizing she must've gotten tired out and lagged behind. He shook out his mane and began to retrace his steps, soon finding the mare again. He'd been right when he guessed she'd gotten tired. The mare's coat was slick was sweat and dirt and she was panting like a dog. Pepper blinked, concerned. "Are you okay? Did the fire burn you?" He asked, lifting his head to stare in the direction of the barn. They'd managed a fair distance before Celestial had collapsed but he could still see the red tongues of flame in the distance. Pepper shifted impatiently, looking around. They needed shade and water. The disgusting dryness of his mouth was awful and if he was thirsty, Pepper couldn't imagine how the mare was feeling. Unfortunately though, he had no idea where to find either. "By the way, my name's Pepper."

With the wind blowing the wrong way, it was only when Abyss came into sight that Venus noticed him. Her ears instictively pinned, her intelligent dark eyes fixed warily on the stallion. Her muscles tensed, but the mare didn't run. If she tried, he'd simply snake her. Besides it'd be a waste of energy and survival when the earth was in such destruction would take every ounce of her energy. So instead of fleeing, Venus lifted her head, her wariness replaced with defiance. Venus looked the stallion over a few moments before replying. He looked strong, and his aggresive, dominant nature told the arabian he was capable of taking care of himself and a herd. "Call me Venus. You are?" Venus sighed softly, her eyes darkening. She missed her former herd and seeing them all die one by one had been devasting. The mare had had a yearling colt and his death had been one of the hardest. He had died of infected burns from a fire. Venus had done her best to try to keep him alive, but in the end, well Venus had a broken heart. "Dead." It was a simple statement and Venus was relieved when her voice didn't betray her grief. The mare let her eyes harden and she glared at the stallion. "What are you doing here?" Venus challenged the stallion.

۵Celestial۵

Celestial weakly lifted her head, allowing her gaze to stare right at the stallion before her. The poor mare's heart began to race with fear. She was unsure of this stallion despite his help, and with her past history, everyone was alive to use her and abuse her. "Just singed my tail a bit..." She replied, her voice soft and weak. She didn't want to show her fear to the stallion, she didn't want to be abandon and left behind like her owners did at the barn. With all her might, the seal brown mare slowly, but surely, lifted herself off the ground. Without another word, she began to back away from the stallion, allowing herself to be a few feet away from him. She didn't trust him, not yet at least, and felt rather uncomfortable with such close contact. A slight breeze blew through her mane, lifting the sweat off her body, and relieving her of heat. A subtle sigh escaped her lips, her head dropped along with her gaze. Her soft, salmon tongue licked at the air, begging for water, begging for Mother Nature to quench the earth and give everyone some relief, especially herself. Celestial's soft, frail ears perked to the sound of the stallion's gentle, yet frantic voice. She knew he wanted to get out of here just as much as she did, but she wasn't sure if she'd make another long and exhausting run. "The name's Celestial.." The mare cooed. As she spoke with the stallion, she never bothered lifting her gaze off of the ground below her. "I know you're thirsty, and tired. Go ahead and look for it. I'll stay here." She continued, shaking her head violently, trying to rid her face of buzzing insects.

♠Abyss♠

Abyss kept his ocean blue gaze focused on the mare before him. His tail swayed from side to side, but his stance was stern, his hooves dug into the dry soil. He could easily tell that the stranger was not going to run, which he liked. If there was one thing Abyss appreciated, was horses that stood their ground and didn't bolt when someone approached them. He nodded his head in satisfaction, "Nice to meet you Venus. The names Abyss." Seeing as this mare knew how to handle herself, and was of no threat, he allowed himself to relax, but only a little. The smell of nearby smoke, caught his attention, which allowed him to take his gaze off of Venus to take a look around. There was no flame to be seen, however, there was smoldering hot, ashen smoke approaching behind a line of trees. This caused the stallion to become rather alert, and cautious. In order to stay relaxed, Abyss turned again to face the grey mare, "I'm sorry about your herd. I'm just wandering the plains alone, my herd were captured by those two-legged disgraces." He replied, his voice low, and obviously full of hatred. Eager to get moving and to not be trapped by the flames, Abyss lowered his head to become more eye level with the mare as she stayed laying down under the twin trees, "Look off to the right. See behind the tree line, the smoke? We need to get moving. It can spread quickly. We don't want to be trapped. Just inhaling it could cause us some serious trouble." He mumbled, his tone stern and serious. He wasn't up for drowning on smoke, not today at least.

A Dash of Pepper
Tagged with Celestial Maniac

Pepper watched her as the mare made an effort to stand and back away from him. The stallion felt a small twinge of guilt, realizing that he should've given her a little space. He was relieved she wasn't too badly hurt but she looked too tired to manage to look for water, which she clearly needed. At her offer, he hesitated, the idea of finding water appealing. But if he went, he'd be alone and so would she. Pepper snorted, his ears flicking. "So are you," He pointed out. "Neither of us know anything about the land. We'd be stronger together. Two horses looking for water have a better chance than one." Pepper could tell she didn't quite trust him, but she might have too. She looked about ready to collapse again from exhaustion and if she had someone to keep watch for predators, it'd be easier for her to rest.

When the stallion swiveled his gaze away from her, Venus followed his gaze, dark eyes taking the the smoke. Her eyes darkened, focused on the smoke until the stallion spoke. "That's awful. Humans are always doing such cruel things." She murmured, anger in her voice. Her anger didn't compare to Abyss's though. He seemmed to utterly hate humans. Annoyance sparked in her at his orders, her eyes narrowing slightly with distaste. Venus wasn't used to taking orders as she'd always been the one giving them. Her gaze returned to the smoke, thinking quickly. Her dead colt sprung to mind and she shuddered. If there were horses caught nearby that fire, they'd suffer. Venus wasn't too fond of the idea that she might let some horse die. "Yeah, getting trapped wouldn't be good." She murmured, barely paying him any attention now as she started off towards the fire. The wind was blowing away from them, fortunately, but if it changed direction, they'd have to be more careful. For the moment though the wind would push the fire the direction opposite them. Enough time for Venus and Abyss to check for others.

Celestial slowly lifted her amber colored eyes from the ground to the stallion's very own eyes. She could tell he was gentle, and caring. Surely enough, given a day or two, the young mare would find trust for this stranger, but as of now, she had no trust for anyone. If the duo were to go off on their own, she would keep her distance and continue to be weary of him at all times. She didn't feel like having more scars and be put through even more torture than she already had. "I suppose you're.. Right. I guess I'll tag along." She calmly stated before letting out a slight, dry cough. Oh how she could use water, and shade. A long nap would satisfy just as well. She desperately needed to rest without the worry of constant travel, or torture. Huffing out a sigh, the mare began to speak once more, "I won't be much of help. I barely have enough energy to just be standing here, so can we make this quick? I'll try not to be too much of a burden." Celestial finished, lifting her head and taking a quick glance around. The smoke and flames were slowly approaching which worried her. Looking around, she noticed an area not devasted as much as the other areas around them. This caught her attention and immediately gave her hope. "Look over there.. It hasn't been touched by the smoke or flames.. Do you think there might be some water over there?" She questioned the stallion, glancing back at him.

♠Abyss♠

As the mare spoke, he could hear the disgust in her voice at his orders. This made him chuckle of course, it was obvious she had been a leader in some other herd, but he knew this could possibly cause some drama between the two. After all, they were both dominant and leader-like, and knowing himself, he would be constantly barking orders like he had always done. "Let's just get out of he-" Unfortunately, the mare had cut Abyss off by walking in the opposite direction. Mares. He thought to himself, a hint of his own disgust was clearly written on his expression. As Venus put distance between the two, Abyss decided it would be best to catch up before he was caught in the death trap. Allowing his sturdy legs to get his body moving, he caught up with the dappled Arabian, but instead of walking along side her, Abyss began walking slightly ahead of her. He didn't like the thought of being behind anyone and following them. The shift in the breeze pushing against them and the fire excited Abyss, causing him to leap into the air and kick back his hind legs in a rather playful manner. Oh how he enjoyed the window ruffling up his coat, and mane. He felt like a child again, despite the tragic events happening to earth. A excited nicker escaped the stallion's throat as his pace quickened into gallop towards the open plains and away from the burning trees. Despite being protective, temperamental, dominant, and aggressive, Abyss knew how to have a good time in a rather bad situation, and this was one of the times.

A Dash of Pepper
Tagged with Celestial Maniac

As the mare studied him, Pepper fidgeted a bit, both impatient and a little self-conscious about being stared at. "All you need is a bit of water and rest." he replied. The paint followed her gaze and shrugged thoughtfully. "We'll never know unless we search for some." He replied, walking towards it. The mare looked too exhausted to run and Pepper didn't want to strain her even more.

Venus pinned her ears as the black and white stallion pulled ahead. She knew this wasn't a proper herd. It wasn't even a herd at all. It still bugged her though that he liked to lead. Most stallion stayed in the back of the herd, keeping the slower horses moving and protecting his mares from attack. It was the lead mares job to lead the herd to shelter, food, and water. Venus watched the stallion with narrowed eyes. This leadership thing would have to be settled soon and when it was, Venus would happily put the stallion in his place. Though the stallion galloped ahead, the dappled arabian kept to her canter, her thoughts on the fire. If they found any horses, Venus hoped they could save them.

Sorry. I've been sick and busy. :c))

The exhausted mare simply nodded as the stallion began to slowly make his way towards the more cleaner tree line. With hope now on their side, Celestial followed the paint, however her pace was slow and steady. She also kept her distance behind the stranger, but made sure not to straggle to far behind. She wasn't up to losing someone who had just saved her from near death, specially if they had a better chance at surviving as a group, rather than alone. As they walked along, something occurred to the mare. "What happened at your barn?" She questioned, hoping to not become a pest or rub salt on any of his wounds. She asked simply because she was curious. Celestial knew he had to be living with humans just like her, he was too well cared for, and fit. Not to mention, he seemed rather docile unlike most mustangs who she pictured as being savages. Of course, she had never seen or met a mustang up close, but that was what her mother used to tell her as a child. That mustangs were savages who did nothing but destroy tamed herds, and ruin the human's crops that were supposed to go to their own horses. The thought of meeting one was scary to her, and she would rather spend her last remaining days alone, than with one.

Abyss noticed that the dappled mare was not having any of his foolishness. This made him wonder if she ever had a little fun in harsh times like this. Slowing his canter down to the trot, he turned his head to look behind him, his ocean blue gaze staring at Venus, "What's up your butt?" He simply stated, a snicker spreading across his face. "Learn to lighten up for once in your life. No one likes a party pooper." He continued, his tail flickering from side to side as his pace began to become slower until he walked along side his new companion. For once in his life, he walked along side someone who wasn't the complete opposite as him, however, this wouldn't last long and he knew that. The two would definitely size each other up in the near future, but for now, they'll have to put that behind each other if they wanted to find shelter.
