Breeding Pairs - Strategies/Advice?

I'm looking to pair up my chincos and twhs soon and wondering if anyone has any methods or advice you use when pairing up your pixel ponies.

I'm breeding primarily for stats but also to balance/raise confo.

Any suggestions?

The only advice I could give you is about color :/

But I would assume to raise confo you should breed your highest confo horses to your lowest confo horses and that will average them out.

Some things I've picked up around the block that may or may not be current:

1) IF you're breeding for stats, it may be beneficial to try and get the resulting stat distribution as low in the non-specialty stats and as balanced/even in the specialty stats as possible. I THINK a good estimate for the foal is (sire+dam)/3.5... but don't know if that's the most current equation for estimating foal stats.

2) For confo: Try to avoid matching poor conformation specs with poor conformation spec. For instance, if your mare has a poor rating (let's say 43.00) in Neck, try to match her with a stud whose neck rates 60 or higher. A pairing where both horses have the same poor rating in a specific element of conformation, like neck, seem to produce a horse with really bad rating in that element. It's not an exact science because it seems there's a pretty broad range for what each individual conformation spec could be, based off the sire and dam (and possibly grandparents as well).
