When is the best time to feed them since they give points to more than one stat?

since the stats they increase aren't predictable, there's no way to tell what will increase, do I think most people who make money showing don't like to use them.

I use them (and peppermints if I have them) on my foals up until age three, and then I convert the training for 10k which shuffles all the stats into the division's I want them to be in.

I was noticing they've gotten really cheap. I was wondering why no one is wanting them. Any other reasons?

The riding school gives out a lot of hay cubes and sugar cubes. There's a ton of them around now, so the price is going down. Good old supply and demand!
