[Sandstar]

With Flightflank out of her fur, Sandstar was able to rest peacefully again as the camp began to wake up. "Frostfall, take out a hunting patrol. Don't return until you have at least four pieces of prey." She ordered, resting her head on her paws and watching to ensure her orders were carried out.

Not long after Flightflank had been sent out did he return, causing an uproar and panic in the clan. "Put a mouse in it!" Sandstar hissed, resisting the urge to cuff him over the ears. "If the deputy of the clan panics, the whole clan is going to panic! Haven't you any common sense? Now come into my den and enunciate to tell me what is going on." She retreated in the hollow underneath the tree and waited, surprisingly calm.

[Lionwhisker]

"Oh ho! What a silly and senile tom you are. Fear not, for I am too strong to let a little scratch like this bring me down! You really do need to sharpen your claws, Cleftlark, and perhaps get that younger apprentice of yours to get you an herb or two for being crazy. Can't have a code-breaking medicine cat, eh? Fear not, for I will simply lie and say that a thorn scratched me so that you do not have to face the wrath of Sandstar and Flightflank! Now tell me, good sir, what herbs are we seeking out today? the clan shant be happy if we return with- might StarClan above, what in the world is that?" He stopped dead in his tracks directly in front of Clovereyes, fur beginning to bristle. "We must return to camp at once, Cleftlark! Danger is afoot, and it is my sworn duty to protect your fragile bones! Hurry, at once now! I can smell twolegs, and while your ears may be too old to pikc up the faint noises, I can hear them, too!"

[Snowsong]

"Lionwhisker?" Snowsong snickered. "Well, he's handsome, but he's also the most arrogant tom I've ever met in my entire life. I think if he were, er, normal, he'd make a decent warrior, but I honestly can't understand why he's so daft. You know, I've heard rumors about why he is how he is, but I don't think it's my place to tell."

"And what are you talking about? You're young and healthy, right in the prime age! Plenty of toms are probably padding after you!"

[Petalpaw]

Ducking instantly, Petalpaw managed to avoid being knocked over by his paws, thus avoiding his counterattack, but only just barely. Being small, she excelled at being able to worm her way out of stick situations, but her strength was lacking. Still, if there was one thing she learned, it was that strength was only a mere portion of a battle. There was also size and speed and stamina and agility and reflexability and experience and intelligence! Again, she dove toward his legs, this time using her whole body to knock into them and push her mentor off of his paws. Jumping up, she whipped around in mid air, tucking her legs in to hide her belly before landing neatly and batting her paw twice over her ears before recoiling, preparing for his next move. She had no doubt that she would lose this battle (Talonheart was such a good fighter, after all!) but she would do her best to hold out as long as possible!

[Onyxfall]

"That's enough, Sagepaw. Part of being a warrior is respecting your clanmates." He scolded gently, bumping his shoulder against her own. "Honestly, I don't know where you got your spirited attitude from. If you would focus all of that energy on your training instead of insulting every cat in sight, you'd be far ahead of the other apprentices. Right now, I'm afraid Leopardpaw will be made a warrior before you are. If you expect to continue training alongside him, you'd better work hard to catch up."

[Flightflank]

The tom regathered himself, singing as he followed he tawny leader inside the hollow. "Well, excuse me for the supposed best clan of the four being so jumpy." He snort ed as he sat opposite of her. "Well, I went to the thunderpath to check out the scent. And I found that there are monsters, the huge ones, taking out trees and dirt, and a lot of bright coated twolegs standing around watching, and barking loudly." He explained as he remembered exactly what he saw.

[Cloverleap]

The smokey tom had already stopped dead, scenting and.hearing them through the words of the aggravating tom. "Lionwhisker, go before I make you wish you were never born. I can collect the herbs on my own." He snarled, walking on, thinking nothing of the twolegs.

[Brightstorm]

"I know. I'm so flea-brained to think he would be even a remotely decent voice in a tom. But unless I can convince Flightflank to lighten up, there's no one in the clan for me, Bounceclaw maybe, but he is obsessed with Sandstar. But lucky you, have such great tom ready for you whenever you want him." Brightside sighed longingly, looking off into the distance. "No toms are after me, aside from Leopardpaw, he is always talking about how I should've been his mentor."

[Talonheart]

Once he stood up again, Talonheart gently grabbed her scruff,shoving her a good fox-length away before lounging, pinning her under him, laying flat so that she couldn't squeeze her smaller body out from under his larger, more bulky muscle.

[Sagepaw]

"Shut up, flea-pelt. Leopardpaw has nothing on me. Just because he was the favorite doesn't mean I have to be like him. I dint care if he's a warrior first." She growled. She was jealous of everyone always appraising her brother. But she didn't let it show. Eventing the air, she backed away, bristling, when all she scented was twoleg and thunderpath.

[Tawnybreeze]

Not hearing the chaos caused by Flightflank, she had fallen asleep.

[Sandstar]

"Were they on our territory or just near it?" Sandstar questioned, a mild look of concern entering her eyes. She'd seen these monsters before, but they usually did not stray so close to clan territory. It was concerning, but luckily they moved slowly. even if they were on the edge of clan territory, it would take days for them to make it to ShadowClan's camp, and it would give them plenty of time to form a plan.

[Lionwisker]

"Dear, noble, brave medicine cat, I cannot leave my post and abandon you to a fate most unkind! if you will not return to camp, neither will I, for it is my sworn duty to protect you on this quest that was entrusted in me so carefully by our gallant deputy. I only hope that these herbs or more valuable than our lives for entering such a dangerous area."

[Snowsong]

"Maybe you can actually knock some sense into Lionwhisker. Figure out why he is like he is and get him to go back to normal before someone in the clan murders him. You'd be a hero!" She joked, nudging Brightstorm lightly.

[Petalpaw]

"I am stuck." Petalpaw decided conclusively, prodding Talonheart's side repeatedly with her tail. "You win! I don't think anyone could ever beat you, Talonheart! Is there anyway I could get out from under you, or would I be crowfood at this point? How could i have better avoided it?" of course she wanted to know, so that in the case she was in battle she could be more prepared.

[Onyxfall]

The tom stopped in his tracks, head tilted to the side. So that was why Sagepaw was such a defensive she cat. She was in Leopardpaw's shadow. It made sense, then, why she was so defensive about every little thing. Why she insisted on hurting those who tried to get close to her. "Sagepaw, you know you have the potential to be a far better warrior than Leopardpaw, right? You just need to apply yourself and work a little harder. A little dedication can go a long way in the long run, but only if you work for it. If all it takes to be better than Leopardpaw is a little more effort, wouldn't you jump at the opportunity?"

[Flightflank]

"You answer that question. Me, easily the bravest of all the warriors of all the clans, come running back. Of course they were on our territory!" Flightflank snarled loudly, holding back the strong urge to snap at his leader. But he knew her temper would get the better of her if he did so, and he would be joining the elders with some injuries no medicine cat could heal.

[Cloverleap]

He turned, snorting as he thought. Fine, stay with me. Just know exactly what herbs you'll be carrying back... he thought happily. Cloverleap padded on, letting his sore muscles move at a decent pace to keep.ahead of the annoying warrior.

[Brightstorm]

She couldn't help but snort in disbelief. "No one will ever be able to help that tom. I doubt even Starclan could if they tried." Brightheart stopped as an unfamiliar scent hit her nose. "Is.....is that twoleg?" She asked in disbelief as she smelled it more deeply.

[Talonheart]

Stand up to let her free he nodded at her questions. "Yes. If you could manage you get your back paws up under my belly, you could easily start kicking and tearing my belly open, that is one for the weakest spots in a cat, especially a plump Riverclan warrior." He said. "To avoid it, make sure you are jumping away with every attack made, or at least most. So while I am trying to gain balance again, you have time to either escape if you started a fight with a cat you cannot finish, or regain your own balance and be able to be quicker than me." He explained.

[Sagepaw]

"I don't need your help, Oynxfall. I can handle family problems fine without an adult." She growled. She and Leopardpaw parents had retired to the elders den four moons after they were born, leaving them to the two queens to take care of for the next two moons. And so Sagepaw had received little attention, while her brother hogged it all.

[Tawnybreeze]

*sleeping*

[Sandstar]

Without hesitation, Sandstar leapt at Flightflank and pinned him down under her grasp, leaning down so her bared teeth were only whiskers from her ears. "Speak to me like that every again and I'll replace you with Talonheart. You are so far from being anywhere near the bravest warrior in the clan, Flightflank. learn some humility soon or I'll show it to you." Stepping back, she released him from her surprisingly strong grip and sat back, tail curling once again around her paws. "I hope making you my deputy wasn't a decision I'll regret. Keep in my mind that you are disposable, Flightflank, and I do have the power to force you out of your position. In the future, you would do well to hold your tongue, else you will lose it. Am I understood?" Her sharp gaze made it clear she was in no mood to be argued with. By now the clan knew of her temper, and they knew better than to so blatantly disrespect her. Apparently Flightflank thought that because he was the deputy he could treat her how he wished, but if he continued to act in such a way she would not hesitate to demote him. While her leadership was only a few moons old, all of the clans were going to learn quickly she was not one to be tampered with.

[Lionwhisker]

"So what herbs dost thou seek from thy riverbed? You could at least describe them, so my youthful and sharp eyes known what it is I am searching for." The golden tabby trotted merrily along, not bothering to remain quiet as they searched. "Berries or leaves?"

[Snowsong]

"I'd say so, but it's coming from the opposite way we're supposed to be traveling. Let's carry on, and when we get back to camp we can tell Sandstar and Flankflight. I don't know about you, but I'd like to stay as far away from twolegs as I possible can!" She shook her head, cringing at the mere thought of the foul creatures.

[Petalpaw]

The fawn colored she cat nodded, diligently taking in his every word. While Petalpaw was not known for being extremely eager to go on patrols, she still wanted to be a good warrior so that when she was feeling up to a patrol she could impress the others. So far, hunting seemed to come easier to her than fighting, but she was still young and learning. "Are we going to do anything else today?"

[Onyxfall]

"Sagepaw, I only want to help you. You're a strong, young she cat, but having pent up anger like this isn't healthy. I won't pry any further, but I do care about you, and if you ever need to talk I'll always be here for you." As he had with any apprentice he had ever had, Onyxfall felt a sort of kinship with his apprentice. She'd become what he could only describe as a daughter-figure to him, and he didn't want to see her so upset, even if she didn't want help.

(Sorry I haven't replied! Life has been hectic irl, my grandpa was attacked by two German Sheppard, and now my dad is in the hospital and is having surgery tomorrow, and my friend had a seizure today, so I've been a chicken with my head cut off for a couple days. Again, so sorry! Ill try to reply tonight!)

(Aww, don't worry about it! I've been in no rush, so take as much time as you need. I hope all of your friends and family get better very soon!)

[Flightflank]

The russet tom growled as he stalked out of the den after mumbling that he wouldn't let pit happen again. Though he knew it would. He deserved to be leader, to be the one who ruled over Shadowclan. And he would get there,he just had to be patient for a while longer. He stalked to the pre pile, grabbing a mouse before sitting down and beginning to eat beside the Warriors den.

[Cloverleap]

"Berries, round, red, they grow on a spiked large green bush." He said, before turning and sniffing for what he would be looking for himself. The mouse-brain tom won't even think that he is looking for deathberries. Good thing no one needs him. Now, orange leaves for Tawnybreeze... he thought as he searched for the jagged green leaves.

[Brightstorm]

"You are right. Let's go." She said, picking up the pace as she quickly trotted away from he stench. She looked back over her shoulder, her eyes still wide in fear as she still could smell the twolegs and their monsters. A shiver ran down her spine as she slowed her pace once she was far enough away to be comfortable, at least as much as she could with those terrible beings close by.

[Talonheart]

He thought over her question, his dark coat has slightly damp with sweat, showing he was getting tired a bit. "Maybe go change Sandstar and the leader's bedding? I know you helped Sagepaw with the queens' yesterday so those are fine. And I believe Leopardpaw will be doing he warriors later when he gets back." He offered. He needed some rest. Though he was a young Tom, and he was still in his prime. Walking in front of her, he wheeled slightly, letting out a short cough afterwards.

[Sagepaw]

"Can we go back to camp now? I promised Lightstep I'd help him sort herbs." Though she had no liking for medicine or the thought of being a medicine cat, she had a small thing for the medicine cat apprentice. Though she knew it could never be, and so she never let her feelings show. Besides, even if he was a warrior, he was older than her by much, and he surely would want nothing to do with the young she cat.

[Lionwhisker]

"I may be no medicine cat, dear Cloudleaf, but I do know that berries do not, in fact, grow by riverbeds." Lionwhisker stated matter-of-factly, prancing after the medicine cat tom. "The sandy dirt is no place for bushes to be growing. Perhaps you were mistaken? I know how elders tend to get a little confused in the head." He let out a soft chuckle. "Don't worry, it is another thing I will keep a secret, so as not to wound your pride."

[Onyxfall]

"Head back already? Sagepaw, we haven't even done any training." Onyxfall lashed his tail, coming to a stop and turning to face the she cat. "I'll tell you what, just catch one piece of prey, then you can go back to camp. But tomorrow you'd better be up at dawn, because we're going to be training all day."

[Snowsong]

With prickling fur, Snowsong followed Brightstorm quietly, trying to ignore the fear that was slowly creeping up on her. Twolegs were dangerous, and she'd heard so many stories about them hurting the clans in various ways. She didn't want to become one of those stories!

[Petalpaw]

"Okay!" Petalpaw purred, spinning around and trotting merrily out of camp to gather some moss. Trees often had the soft material at their bases, but it took forever to collect it from there. Maybe she'd go find a pond and check the rocks around. Only the best for her leader, and Talonheart would be so proud of her!
