Hello, fellow horse lovers!
I made this to see how many of you work with/own horses in real life. I don't due to my family being in the military. I plan on becoming an Equestrian major in college, most likely William Woods University. Unfortunately, my lack of experience is biting me in the butt. I have to know a discipline, yet I'm still only in the walking stage of riding. I have about a year left, hopefully I'll learn enough in time.
I intern with a trainer to get free lessons every 5 hours of work.
If you have any experiences, or advice, by all means share them!

if you get enough experience before college/turning 18, you could always work at an outfitter out west leading trail rides or possibly at a guest ranch. I don't have horses, and so that's how I get to ride
