Appaloosa Purchases

#127731 Posted on 2017-11-11 12:09:01

I wondered if anyone could help me - I am trying to acquire a couple of Appaloosa's but am not confident enough to know what would be classed as quality starter breeding stock.  Having looked at some coat patterns I would like either blanket, snowcap or leopard. Not bothered about colour for now. I am a total novice with this breed so not sure what their discipline would be
Tried the EC and received a Grullo Stallion whose conf was only 47, now I am not sure what to do with him.

Quick primer: I would buy from the RC and horse sales so you know what you are getting. Western is typically a good discipline for Appies (some seem to be skilled for SJ as well). Personally, I find solids (with or without varnish), snowcaps, and spotted blankets most desirable. Confo over 50 and closer to 60 is best.

Appies in the RC right now!
