 New Beginnings
3/10/2019

The cool autumn air was pinching my face. It was almost like I could see my breath. The air was cold indeed. Today was the day that we get the first inhabitant to the stable - and finally get to work. I tied my ponytail tight to the back of my head and wrapped an orange scarf around my neck.

And as I saw the golden Arab in the courtyard of the stable, my eyes sparkled. The stallion trotted nervously as Jason drove the trailer in front of the stable. Citrus clearly sensed that his scenery was just about to change. He carried his dainty head high and snorted.

The loading of the horse went much better than expected, as the previous owner had mentioned minor problems with it. However, we had a good time getting Citrus to the trailer, and he watched from a small window as we were driving towards our own stable we had just renovated.

The drive was about an hour. It felt slow because I was looking forward to seeing the stallion getting to know his new home. Jason and I were listening to the radio and talking about the trees that were just changing their colors to orange and how Lin had hurt her foot with a ladder the other day. So we had small inconveniences with repairing the stable, but today Lin was already waiting for us and smiling when we arrived at the stable.

“Well, is that horse beautiful? How did the loading go? ”My dark-haired friend bounced like her foot was not sore at all. I laughed. “He is beautiful, you will see. The loading went well”.

Soon we took Citrus to see his new stall. It was wonderful to hear the hoof beats again in the stable after so many years.

The stallion seemed like he enjoyed the place, even though he seemed a bit shy, and we let him to the courtyard to do his thing and relax. There he was, the first inhabitant of this stable.

 Uudet Alut
3/10/2019

Nauroin. “On se hieno, kohta näät. Lastaus sujui hyvin”.
