"Breed" Goals



1. Pony of the Americas/POA line: Grade Horses with the.
    following characteristics:

  • Loud Appaloosa coloring (Blanket, Leopard, Snowcap, some Few Spots acceptable) (Varnish undesirable, Grey Few Spots undesirable) (All Pinto patterns unacceptable). Geld stallions with undesirable coats.

  • Parents, Grandparents, Great-grandparents must not have Pinto coloring.

  • Height should be 11.2-14h. Mares may fall under provides their coloring is acceptable. Geld all stallions over 14 or under 11.2.

  • Minimum conformation 53. Geld all stallions under.

  • Required Appaloosa heritage: 1 parent or 2 grandparents

  • Other acceptable breeds: Shetland(most desirable), Arabian(most desirable), Quarter Horse(desirable), Welsh Pony(desirable), Thoroughbred(desirable under 16h), Morgan(least desirable), Mustang(least desirable), Chincoteague(least desirable), Andalusian(least desirable). Grade Horses fitting some characteristics are desirable provided no unacceptable breeds in first page of pedigree.

  • Unacceptable breeds: Paint, Clydesdale, Gypsy Vanner, Friesian

  • Desired Discipline: Western

  • Other acceptable Disciplines: Endurance, Driving


2. Quarter Pony line: Grade Horses with the following
    characteristics:

  • All coloring acceptable 

  • Height should be 11.2-14.2h. Mares may be as short as 10h but no shorter. Geld all stallions under 11.2 or over 14.2h

  • Minimum conformation 53. Geld all stallions under.

  • Required Quarter Horse heritage: 1 parent, 2 grandparents

  • Other acceptable breeds: Paint(desirable), Appaloosa(desirable), Mustang(least desirable), . Grade Horses fitting some physical characteristics are desirable provided no unacceptable breeds in first page of pedigree.

  • Unacceptable breeds: Clydesdale, Gypsy Vanner, Friesian, Morgan, Tennessee Walking Horse.

  • Desired Discipline: Western

  • Other acceptable Disciplines: Endurance, Racing, Jumping



3. American Walking Pony line: Grade Horses with the following
    characteristics:

  • Solid colors preferred. Geld stallions that are Pinto. Appaloosa coloring unacceptable.

  • Height should be no taller than 14h. Geld stallions over 14h.

  • Minimum conformation 53. Geld stallions under.

  • Required Heritage of Tennessee Walking Horse and Welsh Pony. Grade horses with TWH and Welsh Pony ancestry in at least the Great-grandparents generations are acceptable as well.

  • Unacceptable breeds: All other breeds.

  • Desired Discipline: Western or Driving

  • Other acceptable Disciplines: Jumping, Dressage.
