Coat Colors

What horse colors to you prefer in Equiverse?  What colors/patterns do you breed for, and in which breeds?  Just curious about what everyone has for goals and preferences.

I love black or seal brown as the base coat. My goal for Clydesdales is to create a herd of solid black Clydesdales eventually. For my GVs, I am also trying for black or seal brown as the base and introduce Cream, Pangare, & Silver to the herd as well.

Blacks, seals and any cream colour are my favourites. I'm partial to roan on my ponies too.

My favorite is Silver Smoky Cream Dun on my Gypsy Vanners of course. Really prefer black bases and the seal brown also. In breeds that can have sooty, I love it. I also love roan :)

I agree with Olympea Silver Smoky Cream Dun is also my all time favorite color. Anything with Silver or Flaxen is guaranteed to win my heart. I love solid colors, therefore a lot of my breeds I try not to bred for patterns (sabino, splash etc.) I love black, seal brown and cream genes, it's really hard to choose what I like because most of the colors are beautiful. I think the one color that I try my hardest not to breed is chestnut, unless it has flaxen. I also don't particularly like grey or white either.

Thanks for your input!  Question - are Flaxen Chestnuts just a random chance thing?

it's sort of random depending on what genes you're breeding together,
ff + ff will be an ff foal and so a 100% chance of flaxen (assuming the foal is chestnut based).
ff + Ff is a 50/50 chance of either a flaxen foal (ff) or flaxen carrier (Ff), the latter has no effect on the horse's color.
Ff + FF will be 50/50 a flaxen carrier or no flaxen (FF) at all, but either way the foal will not show flaxen.

Ff + Ff would be 25% no flaxen (FF), 50% flaxen carrier (Ff), and 25% flaxen (ff).
and FF + ff would be 100% flaxen carrier (Ff)

so if you're starting from foundations, you'd look for Ff foundations and try to breed them together. to date i think i've only ever found one flaxen chestnut from the EC o.O

it's a tricky gene to breed for since unlike most other genes nothing visually changes with just one copy of the gene, and flaxen can be hiding under a black/bay horse too.
