Add different shades to tack paddings

#258462 Posted on 2022-06-06 15:09:18

I love that I can customize our tacks. However, some of the colors are too bright for me. I am sensitive to colors which caused a lot of stress on my eyes which can trigger migraine attacks. I find that muted, soft, and darker colors or "earthly" colors cause less stress on my eyes.

For example, black, gray, brown/tan, dark green, dark blue, etc.

Red, Yellow, Orange, and Pink colors are too bold for me. For now, I try to avoid them but sometimes I find that I want a certain color for a specific horse. Such as red for Blodeuyn and yellow for Aeronwen. I would love to have a darker/softer version of those colors someday in the future.

It can be done by commissioning more colors after all tacks are done or the colors can be darkened or lightened by a similar method that Ulysses brought up for coat shades (this).

or maybe an item like Dye Toner that just mutes the shades? Say red becomes a bit more desaturated- like if you mix a small amount of green paint with red, it becomes softer, more earthly, and muted. I don't think it would be super hard, but maybe not be a high priority because it's a big game with a lot planned to be worked on. I think this is a great idea and would love to see it implemented; some of my white horse's saddle pads are just too bright for me and take away from the horse's pretty coat, so a dulled color would be great.

This could also be a setup issues, some screens do blow out colours/contrast a lot if not set up correctly, or even if they are they're just not very good at handling vividness. If you're finding colours to be too harsh then it won't just be limited to Equiverse?

Different shades would be nice but I'm not sure would be possible, I think I would prefer to see other updates prioritised over it.

I agree with the priority, but maybe it could be like gray horses, just layering a darker color over it. Or just mix dyes, like red+lack to make more of a crimson, or green+white to make a softer green, because the current green is technically Hunter Green(my favorite tack color).

Oh yeah, I definitely consider this a low-priority request!
It's a suggestion for the future not RiGhT nOw. I think more variety in shades would be a nice addition after all of the current tacks are done and all necessary artwork is done.
