Need Breeding Help!!!

#251363 Posted on 2022-01-12 19:46:13

Ok, so I am attempting to breed my mustangs. At first, I kind of jumped in it not really knowing what I was doing but I've since realized I may have made a mistake doing so and am asking for help. I have 5 major questions that so far, I haven't really seen answered in the forums.  (P.S please feel free to look at my horses and see what I have! I do have some regional and international horses and if I can get some use from those that's great!)

1. What Coats are rarest? and with this which coat are most sought after for Mustangs? I have a variety but mostly champagne, sooty and smoky variations in my foals at the moment

2. Which is most important higher stats or well lined?

3. Which specialty is best? I have mostly western, endurance and dressage. Should i start focusing on one of these or keep what I have?

4. With breeding for good lines what's the general number of lines you want before it's worth anything? Like would a horse that has 4 generations before you see foundation be good? would it be ok if one parent was well lined but the other not so much?

5. As a basic account. what's the best way to do this without having to buy EC?

I'll do my best to answer yah!

1. You know, I breed Mustangs and I'm not sure :'D

2. Well this one is sort of subjective, like personally I would say both, as I love stats and clean lines (which even everyone's definition of clean lines is different). But there are others that would lean one way or the other or even say something totally different. This is sort of find what you want to aim for area :D

3. Well going off of the statistics page, it looks like Endurance is what the highest number of Mustangs are entered in, with Western being second and Dressage third, so you got all three of the highest groups covered there, which means you might have an easier time getting horses from other members that go with your lines, etc later. If you want to keep doing all three, do all three, if you want to focus on just one then go for just one.

4. Again this is such a it varies from player to player thing. For me, I don't care about the generation number or if they are even, or anything. What I look for in the line is no inbreeding (which is another split area, but for me that would be no shared ancestors at all in the bloodline, some people just don't want to see shared ancestors on the hoses lineage page) and no horses that just have Deceased as the name. But I suck a genes and confirmation so I put these in place as a bit of something that makes a bit of thing to work for, if you will :'D

5. It's been a few years since I was a basic player and that was back before the recode which changed a few things, so this isn't personal experience, but thoughts. Check the RC daily until you have what you want/need or check what other players have for sale using either the horse search function or the marketplace area (and sometimes people put things in the auction house, though that is very, very rare I think because I know I forget to check there at all :'D ).

Hope I was some help!

First of all I am not a Mustang breeder but am a basic player. Though I agree with all that Wonder Wiki has said I would like to add that regarding rare coat colours check the game guide on genetics as it will give you an inkling of what can be achieved and you will get an idea of how to increase/diversify your herd.  I would choose moreno and sable to add to your herd colours if that can be accomplished
