Training Query

#249654 Posted on 2021-11-17 06:28:22

Hi

I have just bought a foal named treat tester from the RC and would eventually like to breed him in western.  Prior to this, I want to get some of his NSS down and am not sure whether to train him in driving or should it be something that is agility related like SJ or Dressage - both of which have western components?  I would really appreciate any help you could give me

Treat Tester

Thanks

As you would like him to breed in Western in the end, I think it doesn't matter which discipline you choose as an inbetween discipline, as all of his stats are just too high to be a successful competitor. As you mentioned it's maybe worth to choose SJ or Dressage.
But in the end you will convert him back to Western to give him the possible most lowest NSS (which will be still quite high) before breeding.
I hope it helps!

Even after final converting the NSS will be incredibly high. I would recommend that you grab a different horse from RC, with NSS preferably below 60. In this way you don't have to convert and will be able to show and earn money from the winnings and acquiring rosettes. If you show your current horse, there's an incredibly low chance of him winning anything with such unfavourable NSS of his...

Thanks for your input and I will send back to rc - just thought I may be able to make a shower as liked the colour patternation & not get caught in a rain shower.   :(
