Hi

How do you know if you are making a good purchase if the horse has a long pedigree (meaning fully completed) & therefore higher nss?  what sort of stats-wise nss should i be looking for?

Do you mean lower NSS? High NSS can negatively affect showing
At least for me, I try to find horses with NSS lower than 57 or 56, so for my dressage horses I try to only breed ones with 56 NSS and below (strength, speed, and endurance combined <56)
