Deceased Horses in Pedigrees?

Hi all, I have not been able to figure out how this works..
When a horse dies, but had offspring, they appear as deceased in the pedigree chart and you can no longer click on or view them. I find this a bit sad as I like to look back through my horse's pedigrees to see how their stats/conf has evolved. Color too if not gene tested so I can make guesses, which I think is fun like real life horse genetics.
However, I've also heard when a horse you own dies it remains in your former horses page. Will these horses show up in the pedigree? One of my favorite stallions is approaching old age and I'll be sad if he were to disappear from my pedigrees as I have a lot of offspring by him. Any help appreciated!

It happens when someone chooses to delete the horses records from game. 

As long as you don't delete the records once the horse is deceased you should be fine!

Along those lines, does anyone know if a deceased horse still shows up in pedigrees and foal lists if they die of neglect?

As long as records are not deleted they will still show up.
