The Cream Horse Society || Official Forum Thread

The Cream Horse Society is looking for new active members!
We're an active club focused on breeding horses with the cream gene that are specialised for showing. We have regular contests, continuous reward schemes and new updates monthly. Our current goals are to regain our #1 club ranking and diversify our horse lines and skills. All breeds and disciplines accepted!

Recruitment Drive
New members will receive a showing pack of the following:

- A foundation horse of their breed of choice carrying cream to register.
- Fully upgraded tack of their discipline choice.
- 50 bags of speciality treats.
- 50 bags of feed.
- A guide to showing successfully (if required)

Please message #37708 with your breed and discipline once you have joined to receive your pack.
Current members who refer new members will receive 2 credits if mentioned in the message!

Showing Drive
Our new contest is a another showing contest! But first we need to make some decisions.

1. Should our breed be randomly selected or decided by members?
2. Should our discipline be randomly selected, the lowest discipline number for our selected breed or decided by members?
3. Should members create their own horses for the contest or should they have horses assigned to them?
4. Should there be one horse per person entered or mini herds (up to 4-6 max) in the competition?

Please vote below! (You don't have to be a member to vote here, I'm hoping this contest will benefit people outside of our club also)

Other Notes
We are still looking for an admin! Please message #37708 if interested, no previous experience required but must be active.

We're having a face lift! Please send prices for quality/unique club icons and layouts to #37708 with full examples. No free to use or code generators used please.

1. Should our breed be randomly selected or decided by members?
Not sure what you mean by that, different breeds can enter the same show so I don't know why that would matter.
2. Should our discipline be randomly selected, the lowest discipline number for our selected breed or decided by members?
Uhh... randomly selected I guess though I don't have much of an opinion on this one.
3. Should members create their own horses for the contest or should they have horses assigned to them?
I'd like to have one assigned to me, anyway not sure how I could create a horse with cream in its genetics first try (without spending 15 credits on it, of course). I'm assuming it would have to be cream?
4. Should there be one horse per person entered or mini herds (up to 4-6 max) in the competition?
One horse per person I think, I don't really have time to care for/show six more horses.

Hope this helps!

It matters because we will only be using one breed during the contest, as we're aiming to increase popularity of certain breeds or contribute to any niche specialities within one that people might be breeding currently, i.e driving welsh ponies instead of the popular show jumping discipline.

In the original discussion I mentioned making it easier by having horses assigned to the contest be honorary members of the club if they were not carrying cream. My original thinking behind this was to be able to include breeds that don't carry cream but have the potential to look "white" or "golden", a double sabino Clydesdale for example, but I wouldn't necessarily want to do this for all breeds in future contests.

From a fairness point I was considering creating the horses myself as naturally generated cream horses from the foundation, as someone could potentially go through foundations for the lowest ns they can find and add cream to one. Though this would also make it a contest of luck on what horse you get assigned. My other option is for people to create their horse however they want, and then announce the discipline to be assigned separately, which would be fairer chance. I will probably be doing both options, people can make their own horses if they want or have the money to do so, and anyone that doesn't have time or money to find a naturally generated cream can be assigned one.

1. Should our breed be randomly selected or decided by members?
Randomly Selected
2. Should our discipline be randomly selected, the lowest discipline number for our selected breed or decided by members?
Randomly Selected - It doesn't bother me either way so....
3. Should members create their own horses for the contest or should they have horses assigned to them?
Assigned horses to eliminate potential cheating!
4. Should there be one horse per person entered or mini herds (up to 4-6 max) in the competition?
One perhaps but then it depends on how many members are taking part in the contest. I personally have never taken part in a contest that have more than one horse to train up but I am intrigued by the mini herd idea!

Looking forward to the contest :)

randomly selected

lowest discipline number for selected breed or randomly selected
3. Should members create their own horses for the contest or should they have horses assigned to them?
both like you posted earlier, it just makes sense since its a contest.
4. Should there be one horse per person entered or mini herds (up to 4-6 max) in the competition?
if we are going to do non popular disciplines on non popular breeds we should allow mini herds just so there can be more blood to breed.

yay thanks for posting this because i didn't think to join this club with all my creams :3

I second everything madoka said, except I think horses (mini herds of them) should be assigned. Although if people buy their own, I like your idea of requiring them to supply their horse entry before the discipline is announced so they can't skew nss.

1. Should our breed be randomly selected or decided by members?
Random.

2. Should our discipline be randomly selected, the lowest discipline number for our selected breed or decided by members?
I think either the lowest discipline or random selection is fine.

3. Should members create their own horses for the contest or should they have horses assigned to them?
Having horses assigned to members sounds more interesting!

4. Should there be one horse per person entered or mini herds (up to 4-6 max) in the competition?
Either way sounds nice, herd entries sounds a little more fun though

So it seems like we have a majority of randomly selected for breeds, randomly selected or lowest discipline for discipline, and single horses to be entered. I will probably look at doing mini herd entries in the future, or at least figure out how to have both kinds to accommodate people who have time to raise more horses than just a single extra one.

As far as horse creation goes, players can create their own (or if they might be struggling for money then I'll be assigning horses from my own group) and I'll be announcing the discipline once all horses are entered so it stays fair.

My next question would be should these horses be created as foals for the foal stat boost to discipline or should they be created as adults so we can start the showing right away?

I would like to begin the contest this month, especially if foals are the popular option, and have horses ready to go by the end of April, so the showing contest can begin in May. The prizes will, of course, be mostly credit and evd related.

I'd prefer 3 year olds so that we can jump to it right away.

Good to see an active club that's focused on the showing too! I've joined and going to register some cream colored Morgans. :)
The contest looks interesting, and if I'll have time I'll be happy to enter.
I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to the age, foal stat boost would be nice but if we don't want a contest to take forever it could be 3yo.
I've got a question - if a discipline is randomly selected, that means we'd have an assigned breed and discipline, or that we're choosing whatever discipline the generated horse'd be good in?

One discipline would be randomly assigned though I will most likely consider what people are currently breeding right now vs completely niche specialities that no one is breeding. So all horses would be the same breed and discipline no matter what.

I agree with 3 year olds over foals.
