Dressage Tack Colors!

← Back to News

Happy almost Halloween EV, it’s update time!

Tack Colors!
The first installment of the tack colors update is here - dressage tack! We’re working on adding tack colors discipline by discipline in order of popularity, so western is slated to be coming to you next! (We’re fixing headstall art errors along with the western tack color update too)

To dye your tack items, simple purchase dyes in the General Store, then head on over to the Tack Workshop to have the workers dye your tack for you!

There are three leather dye colors (black, brown, and russet) you can use to dye saddle and bridle leather, and there are 10 cloth dye colors you can use on saddle pads/cloth: silver (the existing default color), red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink, purple, charcoal, and cream!

Saddle pads have received a new texture with this update, so your existing dressage saddles will have a new look too!

Leather dyes cost $750 each and cloth dyes cost $500 each, and dye bottles come with 5 uses. The dyeing process requires one use of dye and costs $250 in the Tack Shop to have applied.

Make sure to keep an eye on your tack’s repair level when it is dyed, as tack will lose its color if it reaches 15% repair, and will then cost an additional $100 to repair and redye.

Along with the dyeing update, colorful tack now has its colors included both in the item name and in its icon as splashes of color! The color names and splotches should help you more easily identify tack that has been dyed, so you can equip it to the horse of your choice!

Please note that the auto-equipper will still prioritize equipping tack with the best stats, so it will not necessarily choose the color you want in automatically applying equipment. If you wish your horse to have a specific tack color, you can either equip tack manually, or equip the best tack to your horse and then apply dye to it. For now, it is easiest to dye tack that is not equipped, or unequip tack then dye it, as the query for getting both all your tack and its associated horses would be heavy - we will work on a solution to make it easier to see which horses have which tack but for now, either unequipping, dyeing, and reequipping or dyeing unequipped tack will be simplest.

Updates
*Added seed and dye categories to inventory
*Added dyes to the general store - cloth dyes for fabric/saddle pads, leather dyes for saddle/bridle leather
*Added dyeing to the tack workshop (only applicable for dressage tack right now)
*Increased sponsorship money has been added to shows, meaning higher show earnings have arrived! Large shows will attract sponsors, who will contribute sponsorship money based on the grade, fees, and participants of the show; this money will then be distributed to winners.
*Added more details to horses in trade, including gender and full color (no room to include confo as well)
*Added public notes to divisions; the editor for these is below the private notes editor, and the public notes will show at the top of the division when viewing the division page (notes have been left off of the longer Your Horses page, to save scrolling time)
*Tack level and grade are now visible on tack being sold in the marketplace

Bug Fixes
*Fixed items belonging to user #0 being for sale in the item market
*Fixed the farmstead overview saying weeding is needed when it isn’t, all farmstead messages should work properly now
*Fixed divisions not keeping their sorting for show entry, other dropdown menus
