I am breeding for good stated TWHs and have got that figured out but for right now, I want to show, show, show. And I am losing money, losing money, and losing money. I mean really. Is it just some kinda money sink? Most of my horses that I show are all GOODS and I am training every day before I show. Usually, my show entry fees are around 10k, while my earnings are anywhere from 3k-5k. Is this right? And why! Because I really need a way to make money before I can start breeding but all it is earning me is EXP. I need help and any kind is appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, the reason I didn't put this in the help section, was because many of the help topic threads looked like bugs or whatever. Sorry about this.

Yes, thanks! I have already read those though. And what are non-specialty stats and how do you find them?

Hi Hyrim!

Non-specialty stats are the stats that are not involved with what the horse is trained in. When a horse has a certain specialty, it has two categories of stats that raise as a result of training.

There are 5 categories of stats that are listed to the left side of each horse's page. Whatever is high, is what the horse will potentially excel in.

This is what each specialty corresponds to:

Western = INT & SPD
Racing = SPD & END
Endurance = END & INT
Driving = STR & END
Show Jumping = AGI & SPD
Dressage = INT & AGI

So, if a horse is trained Western, you would want high stats in the Intelligence and Speed categories, but low stats in all other categories (Endurance, Strength, Agility). The stats not involved with the specialty are what are known as "non-specialty stats."

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask more or message me with any questions! ♥

@Hyrim,

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Showing can be wonky. Cryptic linked some helpful guides which are really indepth (thank you, Sabriel!).

Confo does not affect shows at all.

Some tips:
Always train and care for your horses before entering shows
Upgrade tack ASAP
Enter larger entry shows vs. higher cost but lower entry
Start out with a smaller herd. 10ish is a good number. Overinvesting can drain funds quickly.

Some people only show when their horse is close to the top of its bracket. Example, Horse X is putting in riding school until he is 10 points away from leveling up. Horses that are closer to leveling up have a higher chance of placing better because they have higher stats for said show.

Non-specs are the stats not associated with your horse's discipline. Example, a dressage horse's non-specs are the stats in strength, speed and endurance all added together.

For reference, stat breakdown per level:
N1 - 100-149
N2 - 150 -199
N3 - 200-249
N4 - 250-299
N5 - 300 -349
L1 - 350-399
L2 - 400-449
L3 - 450-499
L4 - 500-549
L5 - 550-599
R1 - 600-699
R2 - 700-799
R3 - 800-899
R4 - 900-999
R5 - 1,000-1,099
Na1 - 1,100-1,299
Na2 - 1,300-1,499
Na3 - 1,500-1,699
Na4 - 1,700-1899
Na5 - 1,900-2,099
I1 - 2,100-2,499
I2 - 2,500-2,999
I3 - 3,000-3,999
I4 - 4,000-4,999
I5 - 5,000+

Hello, if you are just beginning. I would suggest that you NOT put your horses in shows. Instead, put them in riding school, specifically group (10hrs per day per horse) then you get paid for using your horses in the schools. This is what I do with my newer horses at least. Then when they are trained better and have some stats they will do better in shows (we hope!)

If you have a stable, and a riding school, do NOT put your horses in your own riding school. Always use somebody else's school if the goal is to make money. Hope this helps.

I have read everything and well money is just scarce. I actually had to list and advertise 2xEVC for really cheap just to get some cash. I spent 1640 on entry fees and made back 43 dollars?! and that was after spending 800 per horse for equipment.

My second day at riding school, was a bit better
Even using riding school its approx +220 per horse,
minus food, treats, lodging etc (per day) 40 + (1) + 10 = 51 cost.
So 220-51 = 169.
169 x 5 = 845 dollars a day.

At the original 5 I was allowed it would take a whole week just to be able to get a new division, and forget adding horses as that cost adds up exponentially very quickly . . .
Well thanks to the person who bought my 2 EVC for 125k each, I can now at least have a few more horses and a bit of breathing room lol
I guess we'll see if I can hang in with the money from the EVC. Good luck to ALL newer players. It's really tough out here
