*Show Past Credit Sales

(I am talking specifically about the credit sales page, not people buying credits with their own money or anything else)

I've noticed some games show a list of past sales for certain items such as limited currency. This isn't supposed to force prices lower, but it's meant to help players get a better grasp on what prices sell best. Lately the credit sales have been pretty quiet, and even though on busier months they can still shoot up into the $500k+ region, I feel like a lot of people's first thought upon seeing an empty credit sales page with no current competition is "what's the biggest number I can put here" XD

With a visible list of what prices managed to sell, it will make it easier for sellers to price their credits. For buyers this could make it easier to find credits they can afford, especially for those who can't spend real money for them. But for sellers in particular, seeing what prices people have bought at before would make the value of credits clearer, instead of having to guess and worry about high/lowballing. I disagree with having a set price or a capped price on credits which I think (not entirely sure) has been discussed before, so I feel like this could help both buyers and sellers without forcing sellers to price one way.

There can still be the concern that this is still forcing lower prices since if everyone can see credits selling for $50k-$150k, why would someone buy credits for $500k? But along with the fact that there ARE people who still would still buy for their own reasons, how easy is it to sell credits for $500k right now? Even if $500k happens to be the cheapest price on the board it's still not very easy to make a sale. With a sales display people can continue to price high if they want and can still manage to make sales.
There is also the fact that someone could lowball really badly and everyone will expect that price from then on. But I mean... if for example you saw a row of $100k sales with a random $15k sale, would you suddenly think $15k is the only price you should expect to pay for credits from now on...?
I'd also like to mention, some of the games I've seen with this system will not only show the price and amount sold, but the players who bought and sold the items along with the date and time. If I'm being honest I really don't like that much info being shown for the world to see, especially in a smaller community like EV. While player names don't seem necessary, maybe the date would be helpful to reflect how prices change with time. Sometimes it's a list of all sales made within a set period such as a month, others show just the last 10 or so sales. I feel like the latter would be more helpful to account for periods of time where lesser sales happen, otherwise we could end up with a blank list and then we're brought back to where we are right now.
And finally there is also whether this is even a possible feature or not. I don't know much about how these things work, if it isn't possible to implement then just ignore everything I've said :p

Basically, the idea is to help give a better picture of what credit prices sell without forcing people to price a certain way, and also while keeping everyone's privacy in mind. The list would just show a set number of previous sales with the date, price, and # of credits sold without showing who sold and bought them.

If there's anything that doesn't sound right about this I'd love to know! I could very well be missing something obvious that could just make things worse XD Whether you agree or disagree I really would like to hear everyone's thoughts.

If I'm understanding you right, you're wanting something like an inflation line graph? The vertical line being price, and the bottom line being amount sold, or...? I'm so confused. Sorry. My brain doesn't process anything when I haven't slept. LOL!

Oh no! Like I said it's just a list showing each individual sale, the amount of credits sold and what price they were, along with the date the sale happened. Similar to the credit history page ♥

I could see it being a positive thing the way you described it. I also think a time between listing and being sold would be handy as well. You could see a list of 200k credits that sold for example but they could have been up for sale for a month and bought out of desperation vs an actual healthy need for credits being bought within a couple days of listing.
