Play by Post dnd? interest?

kinda wanna experiment with play by post. PbP is like text-based dnd, though i wouldn't mind some sessions to be over voice chat. I've never been a dm but my brother is the dm for my current group so I do have access to him and his resources.
If there's any interest I'd like to further develop this idea!

Would there be race restrictions? 

I used to DM occasionally, still have my dice, but no handbooks. I think there is a site where you can set up an online game, but it's not much use if everyone is in different time zones.

If anyone is interested there are some websites to play tabletop games on like d&d or pathfinder, personally I use roll20 they have there own dice roller and handbooks and you can find most handbooks as pdfs but if this thread I'd the least bit alive I have dice and the player handbook as well as the lost mines of Phandelver 

the Lost Mines of Phandelver is good! this reminds me i need to go to my game store before they officially close down in December ;n; buy a dm book, player guide, dice, maybe some minis....

I've actually not heard of a "Play by Post" but I am a role-player and a Dungeons and Dragons DM. Is a PbP just a more in depth role-play, but not quite D&D because it's text base where it's not a voice chat or in person, etc? Kind of a middle ground? So essentially a role-play with consequences? XD If so, I'm definitely down for that. I don't like voice chats and I run an in-person game every Monday for my husband and a couple of our friends. So if you would like to use me for any resources I'd be glad to help if you need it. I like helping with stuff and giving ideas for plot. It'd be nice to get to be a player for once lol.

Being an online game where people have different time zones, doing just a text base game might be better for people to post when they can. Just a thought.

Here's an idea maybe a simple roleplay within the settings and lore of d&d and do that without the dice
