2 years ago today wow

Two years ago today we lost Chester Charles Bennington. He was the lead singer of Linkin Park and also sang with Grey Daze, Stone Temple Pilots and Dead By Sunrise. He is survived by 6 children and a wife Talinda. 


Now I know it's a little strange for someone to be so broken up about the death of someone they never met. However this music was my childhood, my father was a head banger in his youth. As my father his appearance changed but his love of rock and metal never did. I grew up with Linkin Park and Metallica in the background. 


Another reason his music touches me is becuase as a young adult I have had some struggles with mental health and his music is very helpful and touching. He didn't gloss over or fake his issues and he used them as a driving force to better his music. His music had helped me out of dark places and can sometimes just plain cheer me up. 


I am sad for his family, friends and fans, many of whom are still not over it. It hits me personally like a brick wall. 

May he rest in peace with the assurance that he won't be forgotten any time soon.
