What do characters do?

I'm very confused on what characters do and how you make them. :/

Characters don't really do anything game related. They are drawings usually digital that are then colored in. They are collected and people get tags and signatures for use on the forums based on these characters. In order to get one you either have to make them or order them from an artist. Usually the subject is horses but I also own dog, sea creature and dinosaur ones.

Character: Romeo
Tag: Sprite 
Signature: Chester

Bonnie did a good job of explaining them, so I'm not going to go into much detail, but I did want to add a few things.
As Bonnie said, they are completely separate from the game. You cannot use nor create them via any feature of the game. They are made and sold by users and used in art and stories. They are called characters because that is exactly what they are: Fictional characters like those from books, movies, and art.

Yeah, 'characters' are just a digital art design of usually a horse since this is a simulated horse site. But you just basically collect art of the character, it's like a virtual toy lol the more art you get made of the character makes it feel more alive. You can make them a male or female, you can breed them with other people's characters, give them mates, etc. It's kinda like Neopets or those pets you collect on Chicken Smoothie to me. You can give them an age and even a background history. You can see my characters HERE to kinda get an idea. It kinda becomes habit to collect new art of your characters all the time. Especially if you have a favorite.
