Congratulations!

You have been accepted into the Dragon Rider Academy! School begins on September 1st. Please arrive at the Academy the night before to get settled in. Each student will have their own living quarters. Be ready for the first day, because it is the most important of all: the Dragon Selection Ceremony! We will see you soon!

(For the living quarters, feel free to make up whatever you like! You can describe it or provide pictures. However there is no modern technology like iPhones or laptops in Aswal!)

Alfie

Alfred dropped his one backpack to the ground with a sigh. He looked around his living quarters with a small smile on his lips. There was a small living room area, complete with chairs and a comfy-looking couch. There was a small kitchen in the back. To the side there was a large bedroom and a luxurious bathroom. A living space just for me, Alfie thought happily. He was so used to sharing space with his siblings, he wasn’t even sure what it was like to have his own bedroom. Alfie unpacked his rather small amount of clothes and then got in the shower. After, he picked out a blue t-shirt that matched his eyes and shorts, with worn, white high-top Converse. Alfie unsuccessfully tried to pat down his wild, dark brown hair to make it look somewhat tidy, but gave up after a few minutes. As he walked down to the Dining Hall, he fidgeted with his small necklace made of colorful beads his sister gave him, a sign he was nervous. Alfie looked around and realized he was the first one there. He went to the buffet-style counter and served himself food and sat down alone at a table, waiting for the others.

Elodie Jean
Elodie Jean burst into the dining hall, snickering rather loudly and half running, half stumbling to a stop. Before the large doors swung shut, an angry ELODIE JEAN GRAHAM, I'LL SEE YOU IN MY OFFICE! Could be heard from someone down the hall. Elodie, bent in half from laughing so hard, didn't notice the room's only other occupant. "That," she said breathlessly between laughs, "was one of the best things I've ever seen." It took her a minute to stop laughing enough to straighten up, and several more to pick what she wanted from the buffet - a mix of familiar Sea and Jungle Kingdom cuisine, of course.

Alfie

Alfie looked up when a mischievous-looking, red-haired girl burst into the hall. He watched as she doubled over with giggles, so hard, and couldn’t help but grin watching her howl with laughter. He looked down quickly as she straightened up and walked over to the buffet. Alfie took another bite of his chicken, glancing at her every few seconds. When she turned around he waved her over, a boyish grin playing on his lips. “Wanna sit wih me?” Alfie called.

Elodie Jean
Elodie looked around, even though she already knew there was no one else around. "I guess, since you're the only other person here," she said with a shrug, sitting across from the boy.

Rosanne
Rosie marched into her room, plunking her bag down on the floor beside her. She glanced around the room- pretty big compared to her old one, and fancier than she was used to; but then she had to expect that, with her family being as poor as it was. A room with some chairs and stuff; a bedroom with a very soft-looking bed; kitchen, etc. Pretty boring. Picking up her bag again, she entered the bedroom carefully, as if there might be a lion inside, and, putting her bag on the bed, perched beside it (the bed was really soft) and started unpacking.
She was getting hungry by the time she finished, and since it was probably about time to eat anyway, she started towards the dining hall, which she found after only being lost for a short time. There were only two people there when she entered. Hopefully I'm early and not late? She headed towards the buffet and started to fill her plate, trying not to show her uncertainty.

Alfie grinned as the girl sat down across from him. He wiped off his hand with the napkin, and then held it out. “I’m Alfie Isley,” he greeted.

Clovis
Clovis pulled the last item from his bag - a hand-carved wood figurine - and placed it on the top of the dresser. He'd already poked around his new living space for a few minutes and unpacked his bag. It was bigger than he was used to. Clovis walked out of the bedroom and noticed a small paper on the little table in front of the couch. He picked it up and glanced over the contents. A dining hall was open with a buffet at the moment. He was admittedly hungry after the journey here. His hand drifted to his side to check that his sword was back in its sheathe; it had been wrapped and in his bag upon arrival here, per his father's suggestion, but as far as Clovis knew there were no rules against it. Then, upon feeling the familiar handle, he exited his room and, following signs and making guesses, finally arrived at what appeared to be the dining hall. There were a few others there already, who Clovis ignored. He went to the buffet, piled food onto a plate, and found a seat.

Elodie looked at his hand for an unnoticeable second and opted to wave instead. "Elodie Jean." Movement caught her attention and she glanced at the door as another boy entered.

Remington
Remington stalked into his new living quarters, glancing at the furniture with disgust. He turned to Jimmy behind him, who was struggling with three large black and silver packs as well as one small and faded one.
"It doesn't seem like much." Remington sniffed, dragging his fingers against the soft blue walls. "But I'll get my father to fix it up."
It truly was different from what he was used to. Everything was soft and mismatched, not at all like the no-nonsense room he had back at home. Remington shuddered inwardly upon seeing the chaos of it all. Nothing was organized or set perfectly.  Trying to forget that for the time being, the tall dark haired boy took one of the bags from Jimmy, not even glancing at his friend, and gently took out multiple books, and set them alphabettically inside the bookshelves.
"Go set my bags on my bed, and you can sleep on the sofa." Murmured Remington distractedly, still busy with his books.

Jimmy
Jimmy grinned, nodded, and picked up the bags once more, excepting the one with the books. Whistling a cheerful tune, he searched the area for a bedroom.
Turning the corner, he spotted a white door and went through it. A king sized bed stood in the middle of it, and a large window behind it. Jimmy quickly set down the two black suitcases and opened up the window. He breathed in deeply, reveling in the crisp air.
"Gosh, this is really pretty." He said to himself out loud. "Wonder if it costs a lot of money."
Jimmy closed the window and the shades and walked out of the room. He quickly set down his knapsack on the beige sofa as his stomach grumbled, and walked over to Remington, chuckling softly.
"You're right, I am hungry." Jimmy said with a smile. "I didn't have enough breakfast this morning. Can we find food?"
Remington got up from his books and silently opened the door to leave. Jimmy decided it would be best to be quiet for now.

Izzy
Izzy walked into her living quarters, threw her brightly colored backpack on the floor, and left. She didn't care about a room---she wanted to explore! Everything would be new and unknown to her. Izzy just couldn't wait for the selection. Why did she have to wait a full 24 hours to finally know her dragon?
Izzy shoved her hands in her pockets, searching for the map, then realized that it had been in her backpack, as well as her key to her room.
"Just great." Izzy frowned. "And I don'teven have the map to help me find somewhere for keys!"

Corrie
Corrie surveyed the decor in her cabin with amused distaste, raising her eyebrows at the corny beach-themed paintings and table tchotchkes. "Just because I live on the beach doesn't mean I- You know what, never mind," she muttered to herself, shaking her head and setting off toward her little bedroom, where she deposited her backpack, battered and faded from years of use and seemingly always just as coated in the smell of sea salt as she was. Guess I better go get food now, she mused, exiting the small building and heading in the direction of where she vaguely recalled the dining area to be from her initial trip to her cabin. As he always did, her father had reminded her before she boarded her ferry to the island to remember to take note of her surroundings at all times. It was something she'd been reminded of for as long as she'd been alive, but she appreciated his advice anyway.
Corrie unceremoniously threw open the door of what she hoped was the dining hall and marched inside, passing through a well-kept hallway before reaching another set of double doors. Through the windows in them, she could see that she had been correct, and she smiled smugly to herself, opening one of the doors and stepping inside. She got some food (only a little, as she wasn't very hungry) and walked over to a table with two other people already there, shooting them a confident grin and setting her food down on the table as she adjusted the osprey feather in her hair. "Hey, I'm Corrie. I just got here, and I assume all you guys in here just did too, right? Can I sit with you?"

Corrie
She sat down next to her new comrade, eyeing the girl's plate of food for a moment before looking over at her with a friendly, interrogative smile. "Sea Kingdom, yes? Or do you just like our food?"

Elodie shrugged. "Depends on where I live at the moment." She took a bite of her fish.

Izzy
Izzy wandered about, like a lost rainbow, until she found a large building that smelled of food. She quickly pushed through the door, hoping to find someone to help her, and accidentally slammed it.
"Oops." She said with an embarrassed look on her face as the building thundered.

Jimmy
He and Remington walked in silence, with an occaisonal snort from Remington as he saw something out of place. Jimmy sighed. Most people didn't understand why they were such good friends. In fact, Jimmy himself didn't understand it. Remington was really nice underneath, but even Jimmy could barely reach it. He assumed that it was Remington's awful father that had caused it.
Suddenly, a large slam erupted Jimmy out of his musings, and he looked up to see a house, its doors swinging slightly. He gestured to it.
"Wanna see what that was?" He asked, hoping Remington would reply.

Remington
Remington looked up and shrugged, glancing at the building.
"Sure." He said, striding forward confidently.
He paused at the door, waiting for Jimmy to open it, and together they stepped in. Remington shook his head slightly as his eyes adjusted to the dimmer light. Some food was out on display, and multiple kids sat at tables.
He leanded closer to Jimmy, his dark brown hair brushing Jimmy's red hair.
"I'm going to go." Whispered Remington. "Come join me." He grabbed a plate and took some salad and whole wheat bread as Jimmy got four chicken legs.

Elodie
Elodie ignored Corrie for the moment to watch the others come into the dining hall. Mmm... interesting. That tall one doesn't seem the type to be here. Wonder what the rest of them are doing here as well.
