Blake
Scowling at the mention of the elders, Blake slipped a finger under the ragged cotton strip circling her neck - her mother would have NEVER used what little silk gauze they had on her 'defect daughter', you could be sure of that - and tugged, nervous habit soothing her as the group trekked away from the only home she'd ever known out into the unknown. Poetic internal monologue? Nice. Didn't know you had the vocabulary for it.

Kellan
As Kellan quickly mused over this information, they reached his convoy, now waiting behind the crest of the hill with his small backup army. "Redan left to check on things at the castle and get a report ready," one of his attendants said as they bowed, eying the rest of the group warily. Kellan sighed. "Right. Well, we'd better leave, then." He gestured to his large carriage thing that we don't have a name for but it's fine. "Go ahead."

Tracks
Tracks walked up to Kellan smoothly and tried his best to seem like a mysterious anti-hero (maybe a deadly mercenary or thief, he thought) sporting a smug and pococurante expression topped with an upturned nose. "So, what's this castle of yours like, anyway?" Tracks asked, using his natural voice that was infused with genuine curiosity and sincerity--inadvertently betraying the persona of his posture.

Kellan
"Cold, damp, and we eat disloyalty for breakfast," Kellan said, deadpan. After a minute or two, he shrugged. "Not bad. It's made of obsidian, it looks cool, and I live there. You'll see."

Tracks
"Oh, okay," he said cheerfully, pushing aside his initial surprise. He smiled pleasantly at Kellan, the thought of a new place exciting him. Tracks absentmindedly fidgeted with his hands, twisting his fingers together, and creating the image of a small dark sprite twirling around them as he asked, "So what's the magic like there then?"

Wren
Wren climbed in the carriage thing that we don't have a name for, relinquishing her lollipop and twirling the cloud around her fingers.

Kellan
Besides that weird family thing where my life expectancy is 200 years old and I can only be killed via murder, assassination, or the like, "We don't have any. Yet."

Huli
She pulled herself up into the transportation thing [look folks idk either] and settled into a seat, tucking her basket between her feet. "No magic?" The question was asked quietly, to herself, as she shifted the lollipop to her other cheek thoughtfully. She hadn't been born in the isolated village she was now leaving, had only stumbled upon it after the fire all those years ago, yet she was somewhat adept at healing magic. Because of this, she was relatively certain magical ability wasn't restricted to the one location. Huli turned toward the prince once she finished settling into her spot. "I'm sure that makes the village a bit of an enigma, huh?" she said with a small laugh. "I hope the small displays of talent the others have provided haven't been too unsettling." There was no need to gesture to indicate what she was referring to.

Kellan
Kellan shrugged. "At this point, it's just one more new thing to add to the list." List of rebelling people and threatening nations and untrustworthy nobility and assistants still loyal to my parent's cause.

Jasper
"Um, could we maybe... not describe places in detail? Thanks. Um- Reasons," Jasper asked as he took a seat, voice not overly desperate, but clearly revealing that he'd been serious about what he'd said.

Outlaw
She reined Phantom in, leaning gently on the saddle horn as she watched the others enter the carriage. She'd ride her own horses, thank ye very much.

Kellan
Kellan looked up at Outlaw for a second. "Already got a ride," he muttered under his breath, turning to the others. "Plenty of room in here," he said.

Wren
Wren caught the tail end of their conversation. She turned to Huli. "Oh- should I not be...?" She whispered, glancing to  her cloud in her hand.

Outlaw
She met Kellan's gaze calmly when he briefly glanced at her, then watched the others continue to enter the carriage, idly listening to their conversation as she did so. She scratched Phantom under her long mane when she shifted impatiently, murmuring a soothing word to her and glancing at the sky.

Huli
She shrugged. "I think you're fine. He'll have to get used to it if we're going to work for him." Huli shifted her lollipop in her mouth and checked to make sure her cat ears were still in place. "How far are we from the castle?" she asked, turning the question toward Kellan.

She caught Kellan's answer on how far the castle is. For the carriage I spose. Phantom could probably cut that in half. She mused to herself. How is one even sposed to act in a castle? She wondered thoughtfully. She'd have to ponder that on the way there.
