I'm sorry if this has already been suggested but I couldn't see it anywhere.

For me breeding to outside studs has become nearly impossible because of timezone differences etc so accounts with horses I want to breed to are not rolled over when I am.

My idea is that where we have the option to geld stallions there could also be a semen collections area as well.

1 collection = 1 AI (I'm not sure on how much it would cost per collection or maybe it could cost x amount for 5 collections?)

The stats and genetics for each collection would be linked to the studs stats and genetics at the time of collection, so maybe if you hovered your mouse over a collection it would highlight the genetics and stats like it does with tack as its percentage (if that makes sense)
There would also be the option to resell or destroy the straws if they were no longer wanted.
Maybe to make it more interesting and to add realism there could be a chilled and frozen option, frozen could be stored and used when ever but chilled had to be used within a certain time period?

I feel this would be super beneficial to the game as people could buy straws and collections at the market place or there could be a section beside the normal breeding location, and then be able to use them whenever. I think it would also help our current sales market and it would make it much easier to breed to studs that we can't normally get to.

This is just a rough outline so feel free to add or make suggestions.

AI has been suggested in the past

Frozen could be a deluxe perk. Lower success rate for frozen could be more realistic too.

It has been suggested in the past, but I think it was before roll-over was modified, making it very hard to access horses for stud and brood, even if their owners log in daily.

Obviously, it's not going to work for mares (unless we want to be a little unrealistic,) but it would be a really good option for stallions.  Maybe good enough to replace the current, almost unworkably flawed system.

With a little ingenuity, we might be able to think of a similar way to bypass the same issue with brood mares.

About the mares, thing, though, I thought I read somewhere that you can flush fertilised eggs out of a mare and plant them in another. Obviusly its really expensive and doesn't always work, but I think that if AI is introduced, maybe egg flushing could, too? (But for a higher price?)

When I think about it, is there any reason why broodmares need to be unavailable until their owner advances their account?

The problem with studs was that an inactive account could accumulate unlimited breedings off their studs, but that isn't the case with broodmares.  You would only be able to get a single breeding off an inactive broodmare, because it wouldn't age the seven days necessary to breed again.

So, if mares could be returned to their status of availability even without rollover, it would solve that problem without causing any new ones.  And implementing AI would solve the stud problem.

Please use the topic Kimtia linked for more discussion on adding AI - this topic will be locked as a duplicate.
