Art program suggestions?

#187627 Posted on 2018-08-30 18:06:42

Hopefully this is allowed here. So I is wanting to get into art, but have no idea what program to use. I already have a site for characters, have an account on DeviantArt, but I have no clue where to look for programs. Any suggestions on a free program, preferably pretty simple as I suck with technology. Would also like one I can use on a mobile as I have limited access to my laptop. Thanks! :)

i swap between medibang paint pro and Photoshop cs2 - you can get both for free but Photoshop is a lot harder to get in my opinion, however medibang is great i use it for almost everything. I've also heard krita is good but i haven't tried it out myself yet c:

If you want to go simple- MyPaint is very undemanding (don't confuse it with MS Paint). It has layers, reads pressure, alpha channel blocking (wierd though) and quite many useful tools. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow editting like resizing part of an image, marking, etc. For that you would need a program like Gimp.

I've heard a lot about Krita, people like it, but didn't have a chance to check it out.

Krita is the best program I have ever used. it is free to download and its just as good as adobe (to me anyway) it is a very complex program but there are many people giving free videos out so you can learn to do anything on it.

I use Infinite Painter on my phone for every digital thing I do! Its free for like the first 30 days then you have to pay around $7 to get back all the features. Its totally worth it though!

^^^ firealpaca! it's free and works for both mac and pc. it runs pretty easy and is light on most computers, i have a mac and it runs really well. it's also super easy to learn (it's similar to gimp).
