It's an official thread of Specialists Extraordinaire, a club for breeders and keepers of horses with untypical specialisations for their breed!
While notices and advertisements regarding horses are more visible on our club's notice board, here's a perfect place if you have something to announce to the rest of the members, suggest how to improve our club, or have a contest idea! Also, if you are looking to team up with someone else to breed a specific breed-spec combination or have a question regarding the club.

I've got an idea for a monthly mascot contest and I'd love to hear your opinions!

Monthly Specialist contest - every month we'd choose either:

• the most beautiful (uncommon color+confo+optionally a composition of cosmetics),


• or most qualified (highest stats+highest training level) horse from chosen specialty.

That sounds great to me.

Our first Mascot contest (October Jumpscares) is won by SGA CrCr 61.75 S, a Morgan Stallion! Congrats to sikora!
The next edition of the mascot contest will be run at the end of October, stay tuned! :)

We're using contest feature this time - in case you won't be able to submit PM the administration with a link to your chosen horse.

Just a reminder - the mascot contest ends tomorrow, don't forget to submit your entries!

Sadly, this month's contest ended with no entries. Since that edition hadn't caught members' interest, I will be happy to hear how we can make our contests more interesting? Have you got some ideas for a contest, or some kind of tweak that'll help me make it better?

I'm thinking on putting some conditions upon which a stud/broodmare offer'd be featured on the notice board. Recently there's been a large increase in these offers in our club and it's getting harder to keep the list up-to-date since I do it manually.
Would it be fair to feature perhaps only breeding offers from horses above specific age (+10? +15?)?
What's your opinion?

There's a new contest open for entries! This one is a special type, be sure to check it out and don't be afraid to enter your horse! ;)

I just noticed I've made mistake in terms of prizes category in contest feature (forgot that the space isn't accepted as a part of number), that means that the prizes for the contest (when it ends, so far we've got 2 entries!) will be paid manually from club funds.

Just a reminder - we've got an ongoing contest for racing horses and there's little more than a week left to enter!

Layout update! We've got a separate frame dedicated to our champions now!
From now on championates are officially added to the list of contests organised in our group.
What exactly is considered a championate in Specialists Extraordinaire?
A championate is a special type of contest which is organised on an occasion of reaching a certain milestone by our club. All horses in our registry are welcome to enter (though owners are encouraged to enter with their best horses) and the winner is chosen by members' voting.
The winners are appointed champions - they're representing the clubs' goal of breeding and keeping lines of horses with untypical breed-spec combination which are nonetheless talented competitors in their respective specialisation - or shortly, the best horses from our registry!
Champions are, aside from other prizes, showcased on our club's page with a fancy title and a ribbon.
Our next milestone is reaching the number of 750 horses in our registry!

Just a short notice - unfortunately real life stuff got in a way of me organising things here on EV. I haven't launched the November mascot contest for which I'm really sorry. Next mascot contest will begin around 15th November.
The theme will surely be a little different than last year, so if you have an idea for a discipline or other criteria for the upcoming contest feel free to comment here! :)

^Maybe confo or height? Height isn't a well-utilised part of EV at the moment so maybe a contest about it would help height breeding gain popularity.
