This suggestion has been marked as "Added To The Game". Thank you, wey, for the suggestion and to those of you who supported for making Equiverse better!

I saw someone asking about removing sabino from Clydesdales earlier today, and the answer was that the only way to do that is to breed it down which can take a while and can cause pairing to become an even heftier task for people who are already also breeding for confo, color (not markings), and stats to have to add in markings as well. It would be nice if we could have a marking remover since we already have marking randomizers and applicators, so for those of us who like the luxury (or almost kind of "cheating" in a sense, though not that it's a bad thing, I've used them plenty of times) of being able to have our ideal markings and colors right off the bat, we can!

I love this idea! I almost posted this exact same topic after I posted my question about removing sabino, so I definitely support. It'd be so nice to remove marking on horses we don't want them on. I mean, we can add them when we want that in our lines, so it makes sense to me that we could also remove them when we're trying to not have them in our lines.

Full support! So far I’ve been able to keep Sabino out of my Clyde line, but it would be useful on other breeds. :)

@nebula - no way! i must've missed it, but it totally would considering i would like to remove sabino from my clydes too and didnt realize i actually had the same question about marking randomizers until you posted yours

@midnight - agreed, my clydes are currently foundation and almost all of them are SbSb so it will take a long while to breed out the sabino especially because im trying to breed all for color, ns stats, and markings at once

No support. I don't like that we necessarily having marking ranomizers/sorters whatever either. I think that is part of the reason for the poor economy. If you make everything "instant," than there really is no point to playing the game at all.

As a luxury item, full support- but added to the marking applicator as 'none' rather than a new item. Perhaps it'll only remove one instance of a marking gene than removing all markings?

@Evermore: There's still the challenge of breeding out/in certain genes. Especially as credits become more unobtainable to the majority. I don't think it's impacting the market that much when people can barely afford enough credits to by one in the first place. I've only ever seen people really use applicators on foundations if that.

I agree wth maple. There's still plenty of challenge breeding for colors you want, keeping certain genes, and breeding out others. I have mostly used color/marking randomizers on my foundations. The only time I haven't was to remove grey from a foal recently, and it kept the genetics completely realistic based off the parents of the foal. I find having the ability to make my starting foundations as colorful as I want keeps me wanting to play. I like looking at the more complex colors. I like trying to keep or obtain new colors in the next generation. If I could remove sabino from some/all of my clydes, and not have to think about how it could take me real life years to get everything how I want it, I'd play with them 100x more than I do. I like my breeds where they're how I like them now, and will keep being how I like them or even better in the future. That's my motivation to keep going.

@maple, I am going to have to disagree with you about credits. I agree that the sale market for credits is a bit much, but I don't see there being a lack of credits purchased and used by players. They may be harder to obtain when a player wants to buy in-game from other players but, so far in my playing experiences, I don't see a lack of credits being used.

I might support the tweaking of a marking randomiser to offer sbsb or whatever as that would make a little more sense.

But I still stand by that if everything can be "instantly" bought/created, than what is the point to this game? The market is a hot topic of discussion of late. Horses have no value, even if they have color. I think these types of credit market items only contribute to the issue and make things worse.

Just my thoughts. (Obviously it is not just one thing contributing to the poor economy and I am not saying these types of items are the only issue so I hope it is not interrupted that way.)

@evermore - i see where your concern is about this contributing to the market, however i also agree with maple about there being a lack of credits being used because they are so difficult to obtain. my deluxe runs out in like 2 days or so (too lazy to go look) and i don’t know what i’m going to do as i refuse to support the current credit sale prices, but also can’t purchase credits with real money right now. i know a lot of members who aren’t using credits for the same reason, so even though i want this implented, i wouldn’t even be able to use it right now or probably for a while even if it were added.

i don’t think items like these have much or anything to do with the horse market because currently breeding out sabino is the only way to have a solid clyde, and the market for clydes still suck if we’re being honest. i think the non specialty stats are still a huge factor to the sucky market, because there are clydes for sale but not anything i’m interested in buying for that reason. the clydes that are for sale that have OK ns stats aren’t solid, so i wouldn’t purchase them anyway. plus, when people create a herd of new horses, they mass create 20-30 sometimes more at a time, there’s no way an average player has 20-30 credits to spend on just marking randomizers for those horses, let alone 40-60 for color randomizers with the way the credit sales are right now, and many players not actually purchasing them with real money. i know i don’t.

Im in 2 minds over this. On one hand I have clydes (& it breaks my heart to see them abandoned on EV due to this sabino issue) so I'd love to be able to go to inject new Solid Foundation blood from whichever source which I feel ISNT too much to ask as in RL most clydes are solid. Also imagine the uproar if any other another breed bought at the RC had a bug whereby the least desirable colour was the only choice!

I got lucky on my last round of breedings & managed to get 5 solids out of 8 foals bred from the sb bred to a ++ "fix" but this isn't great in the sense of I should be able to get a Foundation solid. Its the main coat colour of the breed. EV states it prides itself on realistic genetics but obviously not in clydes. Even then the sabino in RL quite often is confined to small White patches on the belly area. At least it is in Europe. Can't speak for other areas!

On the other its a lot like buying your way to the end goal so idk! Technically is there ever such a thing as a perfect horse?

No support for same reason as Evermore.
Personally, I will support this ONLY if Abbey increase the costs of all tweaks.
Until the costs of tweaks are increased, I will not support this (and any new tweaks related additions in future).

I’m not sure what the cost of all tweaks in general has to do with my suggestion, you didn’t really make a clear point as to what the effect of tweak prices has to do with anything, whether it be market related or? just not sure what you were getting at. However you don’t seem to be a dedicated clyde breeder therefor you wouldn’t understand the current frustration with breeding out sabino being the ONLY way to achieve a solid clyde right now, which is hard to do when there are so many other things to have to carefully breed for to have an ideal or useful horse with the current system.

I’m with wey here. Just because you can and do spend hundreds of credits on tweaks doesn’t mean everyone can? And while it ruins the fun for you, why does that mean it does for everyone? Personally I think the fun for me is dead because it takes forever to breed out those genes and I’m not super patient. The breeds I can throw tweaks and randomizers at  I’ve spent far more time on. So for me those are the fun points of the game, and I like that if I decide to spend real life money, it doesn’t take too much of those credits to tweak my horses. I adore Clydesdales, and it drives me crazy that it may take me years of my real life to achieve what I want with virtual pixels. I’d rather spend those years continuing my already ideal horses, and not trying to achieve one ideal horse.

I don't see how tweaks effect the market/player negatively.  If a person wants to buy that many tweaks then they should be allowed too. Your messing with their "freedom" to play the game how they want.

If they decide to rip all the fun for themselves by converting all their cyldes to solids. I'm sorry but you should let that player "suffer" with their choices. I personally wouldn't suffer or have the "joy" sucked out of them. Nor would many other cylde breeders. Cyldes and Frisians have little markings and coat colors to begin with. Think we all accepted that when we decided to go for those breeds. Having a sabino removed isn't going to kill the joy from them nor mess with their market negatively. People enjoyed them before the recode and nothing died.

If they want to buy the end game then they should be allowed too. It never really ends anyways? So I don't see the point thats being made? Horses die out and lines get continuously smaller till new blood is introduced. If you can afford to make solids for each new blood line. That's your own personal choice to do so? Your just providing the game with a solid income at that point. Credits being used up is healthy for the game to keep going. Most of them come from real money purchases. On other games I've played, those types of purchases are what keep certain games like these funded. Many would go under in a few months without "rich" players forking over sever rent.

Anyways..

I do support the marking remover removing "one" marking at a time or one "gene". So like a SbSb turns to a Sbsb, and a Sbsb turns into sbsb. That way popular breeds like paints and etc can't be bald or stripped down nude. Those players made their choices when selecting a breed with lots of markings and we made ours with little to no markings. It's a fair trade off.

Also as a richer player who could buy out EVC every day for a couple months, taking away credits from everyone and tweak all 400 of my horses- I don’t do that, and many others don’t because they prefer not to cater to the astronomical prices of credits and simply don’t want to. Raising the prices of items would do nothing but make the game less enjoyable due to unattainable items, people can barely afford to keep deluxe or autocare/showing every month let alone have the spare credits to buy tweaks.  That being said it’s not really a relevant post to this thread and the price of tweaks should be  its own discussion thread.

Still fully support and stand by my earlier post.
