Outlaw 
She looked at him with an amusement. “You didn’t tell me what to play” she pointed out. 

Mason
 "I told you to pick a song. This isn't preschool. Keep up," he shot back, his tone condescending but his intentions lighthearted.

Lynn

“I know almost every Nirvana song, actually. I can back you up on the drums if you like.” Lynn called out from her seat. “We’re gonna be bandmates anyway, aren’t we? Might as well try out playing together”
She raised her eyebrows waiting for a response

Outlaw 
She chuckled. “If you want” she said to the girl. 

Mason
 "Why can't you all be more like her?," he asked bitterly, facing Outlaw but directing the statement at everyone who wasn't Lynn.

Outlaw 
“Oh cheer up already Mase” she snickered. 

Chance
"I don't usually play anything other than my own songs," he said sheepishly. Jay used to request songs I didn't know just to be funny. I eventually learned a couple of them and when he asked I started playing. He didn't know what to say at first and when I was done he just muttered "you still sound like a dying cat" and walked away. "But I can learn new songs."

Mason
 Mase rolled his eyes in response to Outlaw, huffing. He turned to look down at Chance. "Yeah, the ability to learn new things would be nice, yeah. Good to see you've got with the program," he called back. "And...," He looked around for a few moments before spotting Auberon. "Have you made up your mind yet, pal? Honestly, guys, this is taking forever, and that says something coming from me."

Lynn

She took that as a yes and fished her drumsticks out of bag, then strutted onto stage and sat on the stool. “What songs do you know?” She asked the cowgirl

Outlaw 
“By Nirvana I know Teen Spirit, and one other but can’t remember the name to it.” 

Chance
He got his guitar out and climbed onto the stage. "I can play basic chords until I get to know the song if you want." 

Outlaw 
Her service dog leapt to its feet when Chance also entered the stage. She snapped her fingers, and the dog sat at heel again. “Yah sure” she said to Chance. 

“Cool, I like Teen Spirit, nice guitar and drums” she said. “I’ll give you a beat.” Lynn straightened her back as she clicked the sticks together and counted. “1...2...1,2,3,4”

Mason
 Admittedly, he was surprised by their sudden and newfound camaraderie. Three bandmates, putting their differences in both background and personality aside in order to play a song. Reminds me of... That's part of the past now. They're long gone. Or, rather, I'm long gone. This was supposed to be a new start, not yet another way to let my memories suffocate me.

Chance
"What are the main chords in this song?" Chance inquired of Outlaw, glancing over at Lynn as she set the beat. He would have to pay attention to the song, what it sounded like, before he attempted anything other than the main chords of the song. When he got home he was definitely going to just start practicing some new songs.
