What's the difference?

What's the difference from GG and Gg and is there any way to breed out GG or is it hopeless? I'm going to try out breeding for color with my thoroughbreds but I have one GG and a few Gg and I want to breed out the grey before I add other colors. So is it possible to breed out the GG? I kind of figure I can breed out Gg but I have no clue with GG.

I'm also just going to point I've said GG and Gg a bit to much in this post xD

It is possible to breed it out, it just takes time.

There is no difference in phenotype. BUT!

GG with GG = 100% chances for GG.
GG with Gg = 75% chances for GG, 25% chances for Gg.
GG with gg = 100% chances for Gg.
Gg with Gg = 33.33% chances for GG, 33.33% chances for Gg, 33.33% chances for gg.
Gg with gg = 25% chances for Gg, 75% chances for gg.
gg with gg = 100% chances for gg.

If you want to breed out greys never breed two grays with each other to prevent a chance for GG which will always give greys later.
