Does anyone ever keep their horse's lines private, just to themselves, for all of eternity, or never? Do you sometimes ever close your breeding requests to your stock and the sell of your horses for a generation or two so you can have a more desired horses in the near future or so?

I just wanted to let players know why I closed my horses down for breeding, to sell, private stud, and brood in August 2016.

These are the reasons why I went private:

#1 - Bidding issues
*Ugh, when I was selling some of my Feathered Babies, I'd get ridiculous offers all the time!!! Once, I think just a few weeks after the Recode opened up, for a absolutely wonderful foal that had over 600 stats, 75+ conformation, and her pedigree went back with my horses from at least two years of work. What did I get? A bid for $5!!!!!!!!Β $5 dollars!?!?Β I was annoyed, deleted the bid, and that player bugged me for days................ messaging me, whining about I was mean, taking advantaged of new players, and not giving her the chance to get a gorgeous horse. Excuse me, but I politely told her about the foal, and that I had to have at least 75k (at the lowest) to let her go. The person who did eventually buy her, then had to deal with that player, until she got in trouble for making a topic about us. I haven't seen that player, may have quit after getting scolded by some of the Mods. Who knows! *shrugs*

#2 - Breeding issues
*Bother, but people were asking me for too many breeding's for my studs, which is 3 public foals apiece, and then saying I was mean for not letting my stallions breed more. Hey, my stallion, my choice. Your stallion, your choice. I just ignored it, but got tired of all the drama, that I eventually started not having my boys up for stud all the time, and then not at all. I haven't had but 1 public breeding in the past 13 months, but I've gotten a new generation that are now up for stud, and won't offer certain ones until they reach my minimum stat limit to be offered on private stud and brood.Β

#3 - Pedigrees
*It was needed. I've been working with a lot of horses that do have some of my lines in them, but many of them have other players lines in them, which makes it hard to find mates without them being related in one way or another. I then started buying lots of foundations, carefully selecting the ones I wanted to keep out of 50+ foundations bought at once. I wanted to have a chance at breeding foals whose conformation is between, just as good, or a little bit better than the highest parent's conformation score. So, I made the decision to only keep foundations with 58+ confo, UNLESS they had an awesome color (such as CrCr, Ata, Chch, Dd or DD, Ff or ff, etc.). I've bred one of the pairs that I've started since I closed my lines to the public, the foal was born with 58.82, which is a decent middle score, and hope to breed her to a 75+ stallion later on.
