That happened to me once! 
I always switch off from wishing for money and wishing for the horses. Lately when I wish for the horses though, it doesn't give me anything :/ 
Not a big deal to most players, but when I'm starting out w/ all horses I have being used for my stock (so none for sale), the fountain and games tent are my only income right now!
