Mustang Club Offical Forum

#117421 Posted on 2017-08-10 13:58:11

Hello Everyone!

If you do not already know me, I am Ride4Life(R4L for short) and I am the Offical Owner of Mustang Club.

About Me:
- I have been breeding Mustangs on and off since I have started EQ.
- I am ALWAYS on here, unless I have a family emergency.
- School will be starting next  month again so I will be on here but not till 3 or 4 game time
- I am a avid reader and horse rider and have been reading for 8 years now.

Okay, now on to business!

Registration Requirements:
- So far I have set the requirements to this:
   >Must be a mustang(Obviously)
   >At least 200 stats
   >At least 60 confo

Is there anything we should add, take away, adjust?

Membership:
At the moment, it is set to public and has a 250 member fee set for monthly. Should this be raised or lowered as well as should this be a one time fee or a monthly?
Also, we have 227/230 members. To add 10 member slots, that would be $5,000.

Club Mascot:
I know it is kind of late in the month but would you like to see one this month or would you like to wait till next month?
These would be the criteria for this month:
-Registered with the club
-Foundation
-One of the 3: Color, Confo, or Crazy Markings

Does that seem good? Anybody want to see a particular month with like only brown bases or chestnut bases?

Admins:
I would like to hire on one or two admins to the club to see how things go and have people to help out when I'm busy.

Requirements:
-Must actively breed mustangs. I want to know that you actually care about the club
-Should have the time to commit at least a little(At least 2-4 days) of your week towards the
-be friendly, open, ready to help attitude and trustworthy

Forum: Submit on this forum post or to R4L via pm
Name and Number:
How long have you had Mustangs:
Why do you want to be an admin:
What would you like to bring to the club:
Show us your Best Mustang:
Anything else?:

Contests:
1.Group Badge
2.Layout
3.Raise a Foundation

1a: I am looking for something Blingy, with bright colors or anything that will stand out. The winner will get 20k. The sizing has to be 100 by 50px
2a:I would like this layout to be similar to the one we have at the moment but with different pictures and bright colors. Winner gets 100k as well as 1 month deluxe.
3a.I am planning to do this next month, any thoughts?

Donations:
I am planning to put some items as well as EVC in the MC's banks when we are able to buy the feature. I would like to keep at least 500k in the bank, though I am hoping to eventually get to 1 million. Anything you donate will be put to contests and you will be featured in the monthly(Maybe bimonthly) newsletter.

Thank you all so much and if you have any questions or concerns, please PM me! I can't wait to see all of your feedback

I think a 60 conformation requirement is a little steep for foundation horses. However, I would be happy to see a higher stat requirement, especially for bred horses.

I won't be able to enter any of the contests for this month Hirricane Irma is headed right at me. I will lose both power and internet sometime over the next day or two.

Is there any word on when the Raise a Mustang contest is starting? Eager to start caring for my foals!

60+ confor  = yay for bred... nay for foundations as they're uncommon to find.

I'm done with uni for the year now, so I can start running some things.

The issue is that currently I can't actually do anything in the club for whatever reason despite being able to access the manage this club page.

Some adjustments are needed on the club frontpage - the registration requirements are unclear.

The age-range states 0-3, 4-10, 10-20, 20+ - either there's a gap when horses are between 3 and 4 years old where they can't register or horses aged 10 can register in two different brackets?!

Also - since the registration is automated - no admins need to verify (or so it seems) you can't register a horse with less than 200 stats as it is now. This makes it pretty hard to register foundation horses that according to the front page does meet the requirements.

I'm aware that clubs have a lot of bugs atm and maybe this can't be sorted right away - but at least I think it should be looked into when possible.

Also I would like to see a maximum of none-speciality stats for registration. Like maybe a maximum of 80 none-speciality stats - e.g. a western horse could only have a  total maximum of 80 stats in strength, agility and endurance (Western none-specialty).

I know a lot of mustangs that are already registered would not fin in the new registration that way - but make it effective for any new horse that enters - I think we need to clean up the mustang breed a bit ;)

But if people limit the non spec stats... that would rule out the use of haycubes and sugar cubes as those affect all stats at once and give a few stats from them each time used... I rely on them for treats at times as I haven't enoug h money to be feeding carrots etc to my horses only....

I am aware the club page is out of date, but I cannot actually edit anything even though I'm an admin. Unless R4L comes back or the club bugs are fixed there's not anything that can be done.

I would not be added non-specialty stat requirements unless it becomes one of the automatic registration requirements and doesn't require checking every horse individually. A non-specialty stat requirement could alienate people who are using multi-stat treats / not breeding show horses and this is not a showing/discipline club.

Thank you for the reply

As I suspected the frontpage not being clear/updated is related to bugs

The non-specialty stat requirement was not meant as if I wanted the Mustang Club to turn into a showing/discipline club - it was 100% to make it so that the Mustang Club emblem given to a registered horse would equal a quality stamp. One that says this horse is good and approved in any way you can think of when breeding. There's an awefull lot of mustangs out there with stats all over the spectrum - and that's ofc ok if you breed for colour and conformation. So my perspective when suggesting this was not one of showing/discipline as such - but more that of a breeder that would like to see more mustangs out there that are interesting for stats/overall breeding :)

As far as I was aware, breeding averages out the stats, so wouldn't non speciality stats be a lot lower than those in the right speciality for the horse's discipline anyway?

Yes, you are right that breeding averages out the stats following some unknown (to me anyway) formula. But it could take several generations to get just one bad choice of parent out of your horses' stats - and in the end picking the right  stats for your horses will make you more money because they willl win more in shows, will be easier to make stud/brood money off and easier to sell.
The more non-specialty stats you put into your breeding the more you gimp yourself as I see it - it took me a while to realize this for real - seeing as Mustangs were my first horses and looking around among other breeders' mustangs I often saw horses with stats spread all over the spectrum - making me believe that was normal and nothing to worry too much about (if you truly just breed for conformation and/or colour stats don't matter - unless you DO put your horses in shows anyway - then they will cost you entry fees without ever earning you much money in return).

Anyway - I'll not push any further for my suggestion to go through. This was just to answer Smokey.

Happy Horsing Around :D
